Especially given how many callbacks, subtle and not, they did to past Doctors.
Exactly! ESPECIALLY because we end the episode with One…. At the VERY least, you’d think we would seen Susan, Barbara, and/or Ian.
We find out Sunday!

Okay everyone…thoughts?
I used to be against a female Doctor because canon stated there are “Time Lords” and “Time Ladies” but that’s very much a byproduct of the show being written in an era of binary genders. The Doctor can be old, young, white, black, male, female or none of the above. He’s an archetype and that’s the beauty of archetypes…you can fit in whatever qualifiers you want and still the story can remain the same. I know that there’s a lot of anger over this (and poor Jodie is gonna be in a for a rough year) but I’m thrilled to see what she can bring!
I haven’t been wildly keen on the idea of a female Doctor to be honest. My mean side wonders if they have only chosen her because they are trying to tick a box, not because she’s the best person for the job. However, I am totally willing to give her a chance to win me over. And I feel like this will help in future casting, because theoretically the role will now be open to anyone, regardless of gender or race, and we will (should!) be confident that whoever they choose is best for the role.
My initial concern was that they were going to cast another young, good-looking male actor so the Doctor could be eye candy again. Apparently I have a mental block about fan appeasement casting. lol
Hubster said “Oh. Well, it’s about time.” My 6 year old daughter was ecstatic.

Aww
Has anyone ever seen Jodie in anything? If not, I’d watch the first season of Broadchurch. She’s great in that!
I have only ever seen her in Broadchurch. She was amazing in all 3 seasons of that show! In fact, her character in S3 was one of my favourites. Character growth and all that.
The Xmas episode will be called “Twice Upon a Time” and here’s our first look!
Also, the writers put together a little goodbye for the 12th Doctor at SDCC
Ok, I’m in love with the 13th Doctor’s look! There are a lot of references to past Doctors and–frankly–she just looks cool!
I just read an article stating her coat is actually pale blue….. I’m intrigued.
Either way I LIKE this look!

I read that one too-like a pale blue, almost lilac.
