Jane has a seminar given a university that’s about an hour long on YouTube. Its fascinating and she talks about how the writing process is for Once Upon a Time. The short of it is they have an all over season theme, then each episode has its theme. In the writers’ room they discuss the episode’s theme and transform it into plot. Then after everything is hashed out it’s assigned to a writer(s).
Like with “Skin Deep” as mentioned sometimes the theme changes through the writing.
She also discusses her first love, her show “Husbands” and other shows she’s worked on.
