^We don’t even know if Rumpel knew Jefferson as a baby. And I’m not too sold on the idea of Jefferson and Regina being related. Even if they eventually found out about their blood relation years after they first met, that doesn’t really excuse any of the creepy flirting they were engaing in “Hat Trick.” I really think their sole connection is through Rumpel. I don’t see the writers making them siblings.

It was heavily implied in “We Are Both” that Rumpel had already been to Wonderland. He could have easily met Jefferson there. And since Rumpel was still on his search to find a way to Baelfire, he teamed up with Jefferson. Jefferson can jump through many different realms, and Rumpel probably thofound that useful.

I think she does hate Rumple more than everyone else. Remember she kidnapped Belle and locked her up and told Rumple that she’d died?
Good point. I shoulda considered that when I was thinking out my previous post. It’s only the most hateful thing she’s ever done to him, so you can see how it easily slipped my mind. 😕 😆 Taking that into consideration, I’m completely on board with her having found out that he set up this scenario and there was never any intention for Daniel to be brought back. Stealing the girl Rumple is falling for would be the perfect revenge in that case.
Plus, she may have thought that she was getting her way by convincing Rumple to help her cast the curse, but from what I gather so far, getting Regina to cast the curse to take them all to Storybrooke was Rumple’s goal all along.
Most definitely. Regina thought that cursing everyone including Rumple would be her ultimate revenge on him. She had no idea he’d been manipulating her for half her life just to get her to cast said curse, so she was playing right into his hands.

I also think that the cost Jefferson paid (besides becoming mad and losing his wife) is that he may have lost who he was before he began using the hat to steal items from other people. He’s confessed to making a lot of enemies, and asks the Queen for a passport to travel through her land as he pleases. Would this passport allow him to avoid the law if he got caught doing something he shouldn’t? Hmm…

While I enjoyed the awesome scenes between Jefferson/Whale/Rumple, I couldn’t help but feel team!Regina here. I thought it was messed up how they were all playing her, especially since Daniel was what she wanted back most. I certainly see why Regina enacted revenge on both Rumple and Jefferson after this episode.

Totally normal reaction, here.” And remember that she fantasized about killing Snow (as a CHILD) before she even met Rumpel… Rumpel/Jeff aren’t right for manipulating her, but Regina was destined to be evil. They were giving her a push and a shove in the ‘right’ direction.

She was evil, yes, but powerful, confident and self-righteous in her own conception of justice and vengeance. This season, her flashbacks make her seem weak-willed and easily controlled. Rumple/Jefferson/Whale are wrong to use her, for sure, but her naivety was irritating. She walks into a den of thieves and expects them to play nicely.
The final scene nearly made me laugh. She goes from a heartfelt “I will -never-use magic for evil” to ripping a girl’s heart out, all because Whale couldn’t bring Daniel back in an experimental procedure. That doesn’t make me pity her, it makes me think that she is an extremely weak, easily changeable person to do such a 180. I’m sincerely hoping that something occurred between those two scenes that further explains this but until I see that, I’m getting very tired of the “Regina was a poor, sad girl manipulated by horrible men” mindset that seems to be emerging when she has made all of these choices for herself. She chose to go back to Rumple, knowing what sort of magic he practiced, knowing that she couldn’t bring back the dead. My head canon imagined her to be a stronger person than she’s turning out to be. Ironically, her backstory is actually doing the opposite of making me interested in, or sympathetic for her, and that makes me sad. I want my strong, self-assured Regina back 🙁
Also, why did Whale and Jefferson even need Rumple? Couldn’t they bypass making a deal with him if Jefferson were to just bring Whale in through his hat/ Whale could attempt the procedure on Daniel (thereby getting an additional test subject to experiment on) and extract an additional heart from the vault as payment from Regina. Jefferson would still get the immunity passport.

I think Jefferson probably has some sort of allegiance to Rumpel.
