There seems to be a lot of resentment towards Tamara around the blog realm, and we’ve barely met her yet
Yea she looks a little sketchy from the promo, but most of this dislike seemed to form as soon as we knew that she’s Neal’s fiancée 😆[adrotate group="5"]March 19, 2013 at 9:31 pm #180993SlurpeezParticipant@craxyfox wrote:

Tamara was always going to be an obstacle, but as Jane Espenson said in a recent interview, “Fiancees are like walls. They can be moved.” Plus, the promo and the pics just really confirm that Tamara is not to be trusted, and a recent spoiler indicates Tamara has an agenda. I think she doesn’t love Baelfire at all, and she’s just been using him to get to SB so she can have magic.

BUT that promo makes her look like more than just a romantic obstacle. I think she’s playing a very deep game with August, Neal, and Greg.

I guess the thing that bugs me is that quote about “fiancées are like walls”
I mean, anyone who is a fiancée just would not feel good about that statement at all 🙁March 19, 2013 at 10:12 pm #181003SlurpeezParticipant@craxyfox wrote:

The writers sit around trying to think of plot devices and create hurdles for the two lovers who are meant to be together. A typical plot device is a love triangle (think every teen drama you’ve ever seen), a comma, disapproving parents, different social classes, an engagement, etc…. It’s just like on Downton Abbey season 2 in which Matthew was suddenly engaged to Lavinia, even though everyone knew he and Mary were destined to be together.

May I just say MRJ is AMAZING as Baelfire?!?!?? He is just..perfect. I really really like him a lot. His acting is superb. That alone makes me ship swanfire more! 😆 So…sorry, Tamara…but not sorry.

Have you seen the Canadian promo? So, at the end, someone says “Whatever it is you have, you deserve your fate.” (the vid cuts to August on the ground screaming)
Is it Tamara who’s saying that line? Does anyone know?

There’s been a lot of speculation about that in this thread if you go back a few pages. My own take is that yes, it’s Tamara’s voice.

aw okay then yea I guess I get it in the context of the show, was scared people might have meant that in the literal context otherwise I would never tell anyone if I was engaged 😆
And yea I also believe the voice at the end is Tamara’s
March 19, 2013 at 11:02 pm #181021kfchimeraParticipantThe “powers that be” for this show certainly are pretty cagey about everything, probably because they are creating plots that go beyond just the romantic subplots. So I can see it go a lot of ways, that Tamara is some ultra-devious schemer who is just pretending to be normal, or that Tamara is normal, but once she finds out about magic is determined to control it, or she is just utterly clueless and it isn’t her voice at all. I’m so bad at comparing voices that I thought it was the guy who recognized August as Pinnochio at first!
