Personally, I just think Gold and Regina are desperate to keep Cora out of Storybrooke. They’re not purposely trying to hurt Snow and Emma. Besides, killing Emma probably isn’t high on Gold’s priority list. He still needs her for that favor she owes him. So, I don’t see him trying to kill Emma.
Yes, I agree. It appears that the main purpose of the spelled portal is to keep Cora and Hook out of Storybrooke. So, their intentions are not to harm Snow and Emma, but to keep Hook and Cora out. And Mr. Gold can’t afford to lose that favor Emma owes him. He needs her to retrieve Baelfire and we still don’t know what purpose the Savior is meant to play in post-cursed Storybrooke. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s more that Mr. Gold requires of her.
Having said that, Rumpel and Regina’s plan obviously doesn’t work because we see Emma and Snow reuniting with their family and friends in behind the scenes photos. Unless the whole “imposter theory” turns out to be true.

Only Snow’s true love kiss could awaken him. I don’t want them to open the door that all it takes is someone posing as SW to wake Charming. I think that’s a very dangerous road to go down for this show.

But if Emma and Snow use the well/lake Nostos/well to get back then do Cora and Hook use his ship? That’s how Peter Pan gets Wendy and the boys home, Hook’s ship flies than home.Is it Sunday yet?

We do know that Archie will be in trouble in episode 10, and that seems like such a Cora thing to do going after Archie, the only person that Regina can go to open up to right now, to get back at her daughter. I don’t know if she’ll pretend to be Regina or perhaps someone else in that episode, but if she wanted to inflict the most damage to Regina, she pretends to be her to get rid of Archie in someway making sure that she’s seen as Regina that way the whole town goes against her again especially Henry. He’s probably already going to be a little bit mad that she apparently curses Emma the moment Emma arrives back into town, but if he thinks she killed Archie or played some part in hurting him, since I don’t know if they’ll actually kill off Archie, they’re relationship is going to be even worse than before. Sure Regina has been good so far about not using magic, but if she’s in a worse spot before with Henry knowing that she’s really innocent, and getting to see Henry with the Charmings, is just going to send her over the edge again.
Oh, I just had a crazy idea! What if Cora arrives in SB, impersonates Archie, and counsels Regina into using magic again, but this time to oppose Mr. Gold?! Cora could stash Archie somewhere, pretend to be him, and unleash a lot of evil as a small-town shrink. Poor Archie. 😕

Charming being present seems to point to the real Snow, at least, coming back. Hook in Storybrooke indicates that he and Cora make it through as well. It takes some of the anticipation out of waiting for next week. That said, they could be setting us up for something completely unexpected.
November 26, 2012 at 5:59 pm #162414evilqueenParticipanti know I’m being repetitive in the threads but I have this idea that it’s Charming who might be an imposter – Cora has traveled through the worlds and seems to know how to get to the trapped souls as well (or was it just a trick on Aurora?) so maybe she finds out about Charming being trapped in the sleeping curse realm (can’t imagine it being difficult, Cora can hear everything they say through Aurora’s heart and Snow is BOUND to be talking about this non-stop). She might be able to imprison Charming in there (or somewhere) for good and use his body to place her own soul in.
November 26, 2012 at 9:43 pm #162472antbeeParticipantOh, I feel like the impostor theory has definitely become my new _____ is definitely Bae theory. Hee, there’s so many possibilities on who Cora could possibly impersonate that in a way I hope it doesn’t diminish the theory too much. I mean I admit there’s a lot of holes in it if Cora impersonates Snow, but I think they gave her the ability to shape shift into other people for a reason besides just finding about the wardrobe. I think it would be like how in Harry Potter, Polyjuice Potion and someone being an unregistered animagus came up throughout the series not just brought up once and never used again. Although for OUaT, I don’t think they should overuse the idea if in fact they went that way, but in order to make Cora feel like a real threat but work around Barbara Hershey’s schedule, since she’s not a regular, Cora impersonating someone in Storybrooke seems like a way to do that. Of course, it’s not the only
way, but it’s just one that seems the easiest to do right now, imo.Anyhow, I thought this quote from an interview Jamie Chung did with ET was interesting,
ETonline: What are you excited for the fans to see this season?
Chung: I can’t give away a lot, but it gets stranger and darker. People are going to think we’re a cable show with how dark it gets. The dream [that Henry and Aurora share] is hugely important to the rest of the season. We discover that we can use to our benefit – but then, whatever can be used for good can also be used for evil. That’s a big theme in the next two episodes. What was once good can be used for evil, and vice versa. It’s really important to keep that in mind over the next two weeks.Maybe she’s talking about Aurora’s heart being something that was good that’s now being used for evil, which definitely makes sense. However, before that she talks about the shared dream that Henry and Aurora have, so I wonder if that’s something that Cora and/or Hook will be able to manipulate to their advantage. The unconscious realm is definitely playing a major role this season, so that would certainly fit if Cora/Hook could manipulate the good guys in that realm as well as in the conscious world.

Well there you go!
Henry is going to turn too The Dark Side 😈 He’s the new Anakin.November 27, 2012 at 4:06 am #162507staceyk92ParticipantI was wondering, maybe it is not Cora in disguise, but just a younger Cora? We know that people used to say that Regina looked like Cora did when she was younger. I know that it would be sort of weird for them to do this, but it could be a possibility.
