I think I understand the prophecy now.
“The sorceress from another land will make Oz her home” “until she fulfills her destiny” “and unseats the greatest evil the realm has ever seen.”
I think it can be broken down into three ways.
First part is obvious, sorceress from another land is Zelena. I don’t think there’s any question there, who needs to fulfill her destiny as the Wicked Witch but the last part, I think is really interesting, “…unseats the greatest evil the realm has ever seen.”
I thought at the time, it meant Zelena de-throning the Wizard but we also saw Regina, the Evil Queen change in this episode from the Evil Queen to a hero. And for the longest time, she was the greatest evil the realm (singular) had ever seen.
Even Rumple believed that Henry would cause his death and it did, but in an indirect way.

Seems legit.

Emma will eventually travel to Oz via a tornado and unseat “the greatest evil” who is Zelena. Wait a minute. Isn’t Zelena already dead? Or is she?
We saw Zelena’s power is contained in her pendant and it opened up a time portal. I think Emma and Hook will first travel back in time to the Enchanted Forest. From there Emma will travel to Oz via a tornado and kill Zelena in the past, thereby defeating her once and for all.

I feel like that’s what happened. Glinda thought that meant Zelena, then maybe Zelena thought after Dorothy’s arrival, it meant Dorothy, and then we all thought probably, it meant Emma taking down the wicked witch because that’s what we expected. But really, what the prophecy meant, was Regina taking down Zelena.
And Snow and Charming even thought when they found Glinda that the white magic that they needed to defeat Zelena was Emma’s magic but of course they didn’t realize at the time, as soon as Regina found Robin Hood and fell in love with him and shared True Love’s kiss with Henry, that Regina was the one who was going to defeat the Wicked Witch.
May 9, 2014 at 3:59 pm #267922TheWatcherParticipantI stand by my theory that Glinda is evil. Zelena arrived from another land, and by transporting Glinda to the EF, she “unseated” her from chair. Who knows how “evil” Zelena really was in Oz. She mostly focused on spying on Regina and plotting on Regina. What else could she be doing in Oz that was so evil to make her the GREATEST evil? Glinda on the other hand? Idk >> a good way to mask evil is to hide it behind a good looking smile.

Unicorns are a medieval symbol of innocence and purity. In 2×5, Regina first refused to removed the heart of a unicorn, which she said was innocent. Well, Emma has strongly been associated with unicorns ever since the pilot episode. Also, Emma has been filmed as recently as 3×11 standing under her unicorn mobile from her infancy. The unicorn mobile again was presented in Charming’s dream sequence in 3×14. While Emma isn’t perfect (she was a thief after all), Glinda said that innocence reclaimed can be as powerful as innocence born. Emma could be the one to take up the seat as the Good Witch of the West, which is the seat of innocence.
Another reason I think Emma could become the Good Which of the West is that in 3×17, Emma was shown through Hook’s telescope to be sitting in Granny’s under a sign that said sandwhich. Which = Witch. Also, in that episode, Regina was training Emma and was growing frustrated by Emma’s lack of progress and remarked what a waste of potential Emma was. In 3×20, Glinda told Zelena that the future of the West was as limitless and full of potential as Zelena’s own future. Yet, because Zelena gave into envy again, she basically gave up her claim to being the witch of innocence and instead chose to become to the wicked witch. Now that chair stands vacant, ready for another powerful sorceress to become the witch of the west who represents that most illusive of all elements, innocence. I still think that powerful sorceress who will make Oz her home until she defeats the biggest evil Oz has ever known is Emma.

By Z fighting her she unknowingly was the reason Regina was “unseated” as the realms greatest evil. Thats why it was Evil vs Wicked. And also kind of like how ‘the boy will be your undoing’ was Pan vs Rumple.
Nice !
