Personally, if there is a gay/lesbian couple on the show I’d prefer it to be
In a previous post I tossed around the idea of Henry being gay, and I think he’d actually be a good choice. He’s significant and powerful, we don’t know exactly to what extent yet because we haven’t seen why PP wants him, but the fact is, he’s special, strong, and one of the show’s heroes, (even if he annoys you, you’ve gotta admit that he’s vital to the story, and was a driving force in the curse breaking). If they showed someone like him coming to the realisation of being gay, he could be a great, positive, strong role model for other kids going through the same thing. He’s a hero fairytale prince. Hero fairytale princes aren’t typically gay. It’d turn the whole stereotype on its head and they could easily do it believably because Henry is still discovering who he is in life and has no pre-conceived story of who people expect him to end up with. I just dunno that they’d be planning to do anything with Henry in the sense of dating in the next season or two, and there’s no guarantee of how many seasons the show will run for, so if they plan to have a gay character in the near future, he’s probably not a realistic option. If he were a bit older, like 17ish, then maybe it’d be more likely?Henry has shown interest in in girls Gretel/Ava and Paige/Grace in season 1, but if Henry were to become gay, then there would be great potential for storytelling. You would get a potential clash of views between FTL (Snowing and Regina) and the modern world (Emma and Neal). I think RumBelle would sit on the fence, Belle would be for it “Love is love etc” whilst Rumple would be more unsure but then accept it.

Perhaps Gepetto and Archie could get something going since they have been life long companions. Cricketto anyone?
I could totally ship Cricketto. They’ve been through a lot together and are already close, so I’d buy it if they got romantic. Think Marco may have mentioned having had a wife at some point, back in the Pilot, maybe? That was his cursed self talking though, so maybe the curse made him think he was straight to ensure he didn’t find a love that would make him happy?
July 13, 2013 at 1:29 pm #200330RumplesGirlKeymasterHe did. Marco said that he and his wife tried for years for a child without luck It’s unclear if she is still alive or if he is widowed. I’m inclined to think widowed like Gepetto.

I see what you’re getting at Kiwi, but 2013 or not, the writers want to tell the story they imagined, in the way they imagined. The writers have experience with LGBt storylines (Epenson was a writer on Buffy too, and the Husbands show as mentioned), so even though they didn’t start off, they might have it in mind.
I think Henry is a brilliant choice down the line, but still very much a kid, not even pre-teen with the hormones firing. Let’s give him a chance to be a kid a little longer before the romance stories (and I said this in the Ariel threads so it is not just that I say this in the context of a homosexual story line for Henry.) Now that I think about this though, I kind of like making Ariel a merman. We already had Anton (Tiny) have the “humans are terrible” storyline that is usually a part of the Little Mermaid. What if King Triton (or Queen Triton….) ‘s big issue with Ariel wasn’t so much the human thing, but his falling in love with a male human? Or to keep the iconic mermaid, that she falls in love with a woman? I don’t want it to get too social issue message heavy–that’s not this kind of show, but it could be a part of the story in a way that feels intrinsic to it without being thrown in for tokenism. I just want them to keep the bright red hair and green tail though.
“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?” -- Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass
