I’m conflicted with the Queens of Darkness…my biggest question is, how and why is Ursula working at an Aquarium???
This question is so distracting to me. I’m dreading the convoluted reason they make up, if they even explain it at all, and all of that has me rather un-excited for the future storyline. They’ve taken her from being a freaking GODDESS, to being some type of witch who needs to team up with two other chicks in order to achieve anything, and then they bumped her all the way down to fish feeder in the Land Without Magic. I want to be excited for Ursula’s story…but I just can’t get into it because it’s already disappointing me.
Cruella seems quite random and without substance so far.
Three’s a crowd. I think Maleficent would’ve been a formidable villain enough without needing Ursula and Cruella.
Agreed that Maleficent would have been plenty. Problem is whatever’s left of her is inside SB and they wanted Rumple to be outside SB, so they needed at least one other character for him interact with, and once you’ve got two, may as well bump it up to an unholy trinity, and suddenly you’ve got 4B villain OVERKILL.

Can’t have a dragon back in town now, anyway, because that’s been done, and having it again would be one more plot obligation to deal with before the show could get on with interesting stuff.
Water seems to connect the realms, so I can accept Ursula’s being at the aquarium in New York.
Cruella reminds me of Bellatrix in the Harry Potter movies. I like the twitching; it shows barely-contained chaos.

I think they severely down-graded Ursula and Maleficent in the episode. They seemed less like supposed ‘queens of darkness’ and more like lost pathetic women, grasping at straws in a desperate attempt to claim the happy ending they feel they deserve. What ever happened to the villains being the ones who wanted to take over the world, enslaving all man kind?! Or doing evil things just because they can? I miss those types of villains.
I felt like the women we saw resorted to doing something so obviously, painfully stupid, that all my respect for them went down the sink hole. I mean did you see how easily they were defeated by Rumple?! What was that? Why were they still at the place they took Belle to? Why had they not high-tailed it on out of there as soon as they’d got the glove? Not a very well thought out plan, and tbh it came across as extremely weak and pathetic on their part.
But I will admit that, despite the above rant, I am excited to see what happens in 4b.

The second Rumple called them his former students I almost lost it. It also means that one of them was probably in love with him

I actually liked how Cruella sassed Rumple about his height.
Which one do you think will be the least fleshed out? My money is on Cruella or Ursula. I can’t see how they are going to adequately tell the back story of 3 villains during an 11 episode arc when 9/10 they struggle with 1 villain. Ingrid had the benefit of being stuck in the urn so her background could be covered in 1 episode. We didn’t get nearly enough on Pan nor Zelena so I am doubtful that we will get adequate background for the 3 villains.

My money is on Ursula.
Regina and Mal have history. Cruella has her movie come out of the vault.

Uh, the tentacles coming from her dress has to be one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen. NO. Just make her Tentacle-y
Those tentacles creep me out. Reminds me of Doctor Octopus in Spider Man 2. Maybe when she’s in water she looks more like an octopus. Cruella looks to be a fun sassy character with lots of sarcasm. Can’t wait to see her react with Regina.

December 25, 2014 at 12:47 am #294023TheWatcherParticipantWhat the writers COULD have done for Ursula was for her entrance, she could have actually risen out of the water on her tentacles, wrapped them around Belle, and then the rest of them would transform into her legs/dress. That way, we all win. I like the dress and while the hip tentacle thing is strange, I like that too. I don’t think she should look EXACTLY like the movie version (like I said with Maleficent) and I am glad they took some creative strokes with her. But I think this is one of those things we need more time to make an opinion about. We only saw Ursula for what probably would amount to 5-7 minutes.
The only thing that would disappoint me is if she really doesn’t have tentacles and its like just some kind of spell or something. THEN I’d be pissed. But I am hoping that when we see her backstory we see that she was born half squid rather than half fish like her merfolk brethren. And then she just dons legs when she is on land. We haven’t seen her in the water so I am just assuming she really does have the body of a squid especially if she is the daughter of Poseidon, and yeah I know Poseidon isn’t always portrayed as a merman but guess what! I CAN DREAM T_T
I am more uneasy about Maleficent than I am about Ursula. If they copy that darn Angelina movie, I swear you all will never hear the end of me.
