WR and I were chatting tonight, and we have a theory on how OutlawQueen will be saved.
Knowing Regina and how hard it was for her to let her wall down and let Robin in, the end of the finale can make it seem hopeless.
Regina was responsible for Marian’s death, how can Robin forgive her, Robin now has forgotten him wife! The list goes on.
But what if all is not as it seems…..
Robin tell Regina in 313 that he was responsible for Marian’s death because she got hurt on a job. If Robin had known that Marian was held captive by the Evil Queen, don’t you think he would take his band of Merry Men and save her?
When we first see Maid Marian in the finale, Regina has her in a village as an example of what happens to those who help Snow White. It appears that Regina brought Maid Marian there from another location to show that she is her prisoner, and will be executed. How long did Regina have Marian in custody?
Marian tells Emma that the Queen doesn’t know who she is and she doesn’t want them to know, to protect her family. Part of that is most likely true, but what if there is an additional reason?
Theory-Robin thought Marian was dead a few weeks before Marian actually helped Snow White and got caught by the Queen. While on the job, Marian faked her death or purposely disappeared to reunite with her true love-the Sheriff of Nottingham. This is Once so there needs to be a twist on the traditional story. As Marian traveled to find the Sheriff, she helped Snow White on the way and thus got caught by Regina.
Marian doesn’t want the Queen to know who she is, not only because she wants to protect them-but because they already think she is dead.
At first, Regina will be hurt but she will let Robin be. She has a kind heart and won’t blame him for wanting to be with Marian. She is the proud Queen and will be no one’s woman on the side. She also will not be Robin’s second choice by Marian’s death–she is the QUEEN!!!!
Marian at first will try to reunite with Robin and Roland and make it seem like the Queen kidnapped her right after Robin thought she died. However, somehow Snow White-who can never keep her mouth shut–will let slip the date to time that Marian helped her. Maybe it will be tied to the announcement of the engagement of Charming/Abigain but before the actual ball. Robin will realize that was announced weeks after the “job” and after he had Marian’s funeral. Snow’s big mouth will actually work in Regina’s favor this time.
Marian will confess to Robin the truth. They will realize that they are not meant for each other as Robin still has very strong feelings for Regina, although he has stopped seeing her since Marian came back. They part amicably and OUTLAW QUEEN LIVES FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you have any thought/ideas to add to the theory let me know. Hopefully we get some nice spoilers during the hiatus that will prove it to be so!!!!
[adrotate group="5"]Honestly, I don’t buy that Marian would have loved Nottingham. From what we saw of him he was a drunk with a complete lack of morals. He tried to buy Belle for a quick screw. All we’ve seen of Marian is that she’s a good, kind, lovely person. There’s no way they could get me to believe that she had a thing for Nottingham.
If they do end up keeping OQ together in the end (and let’s be real, it’s gonna happen), they need to deal with this situation in an in depth way. If I were Robin, I doubt I could reconcile the fact that Roland’s future step-mother imprisoned and intended to kill his bio-mother. The only way I can see me believing that that’s a thing he can get over is if we see Regina SAVING Marian’s life in present day. Because you know that fate will try to course correct and eliminate Marian from present day, so she may need saving on multiple occasions, and if Regina steps up to help her, especially if Robin’s gone back to her, that would perhaps even earn Regina forgiveness from Marian herself. So when the time comes that fate DOES catch up to and eliminate Marian from present day despite Regina’s previous efforts to save her, it wouldn’t feel completely wrong if OQ ended up back together.
I could believe the actions of the Sheriff of Nottingham in Storybrooke as those of a decent man fallen into deep despair over the death of someone very important to him.

Keeper of FelixI think a much better solution to this is if Robin and Marian just realize that they dont love eachother or fit together any more, maybe they have lots of spousal fights 🙂 and then they both agree its better for Roland if they split up . And Robin Realizes he loves Regina and wants to be with her.
