A shot from the end of the episode shows the words “Lethe” on the arch above the yellow river. This also means that it is not the River of Lost Souls, as that is the green river.

    So far we know that:

The Blue River – Styx (As confirmed in Devil’s Due)
The Grey River – Cocytus (As confirmed in Devil’s Due)
The Yellow River – Lethe (As confirmed in The Brothers Jones)
The Green River – Currently referred to as “the River of Lost Souls”
    The Red River – Unknown

The Red River is most likely the Phlegethon, the river of fire. My guess is that if the River of Lost Souls does have a proper name, it is actually the Acheron, the river of pain, woe or lamentation. I guess that would also be a fitting choice.

This bothers me an absurd amount but whatever. Lethe being Lost Souls makes a lot of sense given what Lethe does even if the writers are “vilifying” the river a bit

Just let it gooooo RG. Let it go.
