I think the shadow is Felix’s. It looks more like him me? Also the eyes are a different color. Pans shadows are like white or yellow glowing eyes while this shadow has purple glowing eyes. I think something is up. Whoever this shadow is was trying to help maybe… But its not Pans shadow.
I think there could be an army of shadows that do Pan’s bidding. For example, we saw Greg’s shadow get ripped off of him in 3×1, resulting his death, and yet his shadow lives on and the shadows had different color eyes from the shadow we saw in 2×21. Perhaps Pan can control not just his shadow, but all the shadows, much like how Cora could control an entire undead army simply by linking all the hearts to one master heart, which she commanded.

Also, the fact that it is perpetually dark in NL makes me think that a shadow has quite literally fallen over the island.
I like that connection, that the Shadow growing in strength has actually covered the island in shadow.
The best thing was when ShadowBelle said “Take my hand.” Now I’m pretty sure that the way how the shadow bring children to Neverland might be a reference to the Metallica song “Enter Sandman” (“Take my hand. Off to Never Never-land).
It would even have sense if Neverland, the Shadow and Pan have a connection to the sandman. Pan and his forces are in tune with every grain of sand on the island. What if everything in Neverland is just made out of sand? The sand of the Sandman which can just be formed by believe?
Also another interesting fact is that some scientists hypothesize that the origin of the Sandman might be Morpheus, the Greek god of dreams. But since the medieval period he began to stand generally for the god of dreams or of sleep. That’s why people guess that Sandman might have his origins in the Greek god.
Why I’m thinking about Morpheus. Well he has the ability to take any human form. The same ability the Shadow have.Interesting ideas, the Sandman angle is definitely intriguing. Pan did say to Rumple in FTL that the only other people in NL were children who visited in their dreams. And Pan is also a Greek god, so that connection between Sandman and Morpheus could tie things together nicely.
As for the Metallica connection, so true about the song lyrics. And they did cast someone from that heavy metal genre of music to be the voice of the Shadow.

My biggest question is who is really in charge. The Shadow was clutching Greg’s shadow like it was a prized toy. And we haven’t seen it since which makes me wonder if the Shadow has all these other shadows he’s keeping for something.

In Fantasia, you see the Chernabog cover the land in shadow. He lives at the top of a peak, a lot like the one we see in OUAT’s Neverland. I’m thinking the shadow could go on to touch on that in some way.

You and Dark One would get on splendidly. He is a total believer in Chernabog and that it will be making an appearance.
