I don’t think Rumpel wrote the book, he was too busy making deals and creating the curse to sit down and take time to write. I think Blue Fairy is them most likely candidate unless it was written by a character we haven’t met yet. I think Rumpel is in the book but it is only in brief mentions such as “Snow White and Prince Charming went to see Rumpelstiltskin” and I don’t think there are any pictures of him. Henry is a smart boy but he wouldn’t be able to pair Mr Gold with Rumpelstiltskin from a name just mentioned hear and there.

You are right about Rumple. He was dedicating his time and efforts to create the curse and making deals to secure the things he needs to make it. He would not have the time nor want to write the book. Besides the Blue Fairy has a reason to and there are many fairies to help her with the task. The BF did mention prior to the curse arriving to Geppetto that she needed to make preparations…….what if those preparations were putting the book together and blessing it.

The thing is that there are no pictures of a lot of characters from the book. There is nothing of Cinderella or Thomas, nothing of Jiminy Cricket, nothing of Red or Granny, nothing of Abigail or Midas, nothing of Leopold or Cora,

Of the pictures we have seen the oldest one in timeline would be of young Snow touching the flower from Ep 18 Stable Boy which is why i thought at first the book only contained the events of Snow’s lifetime, not just the ones she is in, but those surrounding her story.

There’s a picture of some flying monkeys in the book in the pilot and a picture of Alice in Wonderland.
