I just found this from FanForums, but I guess Jared Gilmore’s sister, Instagramed this, http://web.stagram.com/p/256631506635127791_177297621
I just love the title. I’m guessing “The Crocodile” is symbolic of someone. It could be Captain Hook, but right now I would guess it fits Rumple because he’s old, dangerous, and was scaly at one time.
I’m not really aware of Robert Hull, I believe, but David H. Goodman wrote “True North” and “Hat Trick”, both of which I liked last season. However, I’m not much of a fan of “The Price of Gold” and “An Apple Red as Blood”. With the former, I wasn’t a fan of how dumb they made Cinderella seem at all. With the latter, I thought the storming of the battle was one of the worst scenes that they’ve ever taped which is saying something, and Jefferson was made to look incredibly stupid for making a deal again with Regina just like Cinderella was for making a deal with Rumple after he blew up her fairy Godmother in “The Price of Gold”.
I just hope that “The Crocodile” doesn’t end up having someone making a bad deal with Rumple, Regina, or one of the pirates and looking incredibly dumb, but I’m getting a little worried since Charming and Maurice could possibly do so in that episode based on pictures coming out.

August 24, 2012 at 3:54 am #153292lilredParticipantThe crocodile bites off Hook’s hand…wait, NO! Peter Pan cut off Hook’s hand and feed it to a ‘crocodile’: who, liking how it tasted SO much, continued to follow Hook everywhere.
Does sound like some flashback possibilities for Hook, maybe even more proof of a Pre-Neverland Hook that could have swept a desperate Housewife off to adventure…with both hands.
That being said, I wouldn’t be surprised if the crocodile was symbolic of a person. But, knowing how the crocodile followed Hook around, waiting to strike again, I’m thinking it’s someone Hook burned in the past who has been waiting for revenge. If the Milha is Rumple’s wife: maybe Rumpelstiltskin is the person. However, I see him focusing on other matters presently (especially when I see pictures of Charming and him hanging out). Beaman (if it doesn’t turn out to be HOOK himself)? Smee? Peter Pan? Or – Milha?

Brilliant! I love the possibly layered meaning of crocodile being both someone who has it out for Hook (e.g. Rumpel) and a reference to the original Peter Pan tale. It’s one of my childhood favorites, and I can’t wait to see OUaT do a mash-up of the different characters by weaving in Rumpels’s tale. I definitely think Milha will turn out to be Rumpel’s estranged wife who left him for Beaman (aka Hook).

LOL He was kinda scaly looking. With scary teeth too. And eyes that look more animal than human. I just googled to try and find a good pic showing his teeth and eyes, and this was one of the first shots that popped up…the finest of reptilian inspired fashion…hmmm…
Maybe Rumple has spent some time in Neverland, following Hook around for a while, trying to kill him, and because of his appearance, people nicknamed him Crocodile. When the story was told in our world, it sorta got lost in translation, and us silly folk thought they meant an actual crocodile, but really, it was just Rumple, (they made him the Beast and a fairy godmother, so it’s not that farfetched). 😉@hjbau wrote:

It’s implied at the end of the original story, but Hook didn’t die in the Disney incarnation, the Crocodile just chased after him, and Hook was back and still alive for Return To Neverland.

Yes, the role is “potentially reoccurring,” according to TV line.
From TV Line Once Upon a Time is giving actor Colin O’Donoghue the Hook! The ABC drama has tapped the Irish thesp to join the Season 2 cast in the potentially recurring role of Captain Hook, TVLine has confirmed. http://tvline.com/2012/08/03/once-upon-a-time-colin-odonoghue-captain-hook/

To me, potentially reoccurring sounds like he’ll appear heavily in this episode, maybe get some sort of comeuppance and then perhaps reappear later on in the season. Similar to how Jefferson was a main character in Hat Trick then had minimal roles in the last two episodes of the season.

I agree, and it probably depends on how much of a fan favorite the character will be if they bring him more often then they are planning to right now. (Of course, it already seems like he will be based on fan reaction now, but who knows once we actually watch the episode.)
