I feel like we should should revisit some of the old episode threads from S1 – S3 with the knowledge we have now of what certain twists were, what certain things mean… Might be fun to see what we used to think and guess and see how close people came and how our feeling about certain episodes have changed since then.
I love that idea!

The Bottom 12 episodes (due to ties) – each receiving 1 to 5 votes, gave us a purely evil backstory, the birth of Peter Pan, the first face-to-face meeting of Snowing, both “appearances” of the Queen of Hearts, and the Final Battle played out to its conclusion:
1×03 – Snow Falls
1×10 – 7:15 A.M.
1×17 – Hat Trick
2×01 – Broken
2×09 – Queen of Hearts
2×21 – Second Start to the Right
3×04 – Nasty Habits
3×08 – Think Lovely Thoughts
3×12 – New York City Serenade
3×22 – There’s No Place Like Home
4×18 – Sympathy for the De Vil
6×22 – The Final Battle Part 2From here on out, I will not be revealing the top episodes to keep things more of a surprise, but as always I will post a link to the full results below for anyone wanting to know more. If you do look there, please refrain from revealing anything not in this post, for the sake of those who don’t want to know.

A few questions to consider and discuss below:
– What were the biggest surprises for you? What episode/s are you most disappointed to see go?
– Why do you think the episodes in the Bottom 12 were the episodes they were, and why do think the episodes remaining are what they are?
– Will these results change how you vote in the next round?
– What predictions do you have for the next round’s results?
– Other thoughts?
Round 6 is now Live and will be for the next 48 hours until Thursday, 7 PM Central!!! IMPORTANT: VOTE ONLY FOR YOUR TOP 5 FAVORITE EPISODES THIS TIME. The bottom 4 episodes will be eliminated giving us our Top 10!!! From then on out we will eliminate episodes one at a time so that each has a specific ranking in the Top 10. Happy voting – I know it’s getting really hard!!!!

This is clearly a Rumpel friendly pole because a lot of these episodes that are left, i don’t even like. Hat Trick is one of the best Emma episodes and is, in my opinion, worlds above most of this Rumpel stuff with the exception of Manhattan which while it has its Rumpel in it also has a lot of really great Bae and Rumpel as well as Emma and Bae scenes. It is more of an everybody episode then just Rumpel stuff. Seriously, Hat Trick and Snow Falls don’t make it and yet Desperate Souls and the Crocodile linger on? I am just never going to be a Rumpel fan.
June 20, 2017 at 8:58 pm #339689ry4christParticipantI had a very hard time only picking 5 and kept checking and unchecking and then rechecking boxes. It’s interesting, because there are certain episodes that were my favorite at one time, but maybe are and maybe aren’t anymore looking at them in view of all 6 seasons. Teased storylines that fell flat or never happened affect my opinions in retrospect. For example, I still love “Manhattan,” but knowing the whole “the boy will be your undoing” storyline was dropped makes it a little less of an awesome episode. So I’m torn between my feelings for episodes when they aired and for looking back on them now.
June 20, 2017 at 9:02 pm #339690ry4christParticipantI was also very disappointed to see “Sympathy for the De Vil” go, but it says a lot for it that it’s one of the few post S3 episodes that made it this far. I love that episode in isolation. But I admit that the disappointment of much of S4 up to that point for me, made it shine even brighter in comparison at the time.
June 20, 2017 at 9:47 pm #339692RumplesGirlKeymasterMan that’s a lot of heartache right there!
Several of those are in my top 10 and a few in my top 15.

We’ve always been a pretty Rumple friendly forum, along with leaning pro-Neal/pro-Swanfire. Put this poll in another forum and it’s interesting to think how radically different it would be.
– What predictions do you have for the next round’s results?
I think the musical will finally get the axe.
Round 6 is now Live
Voted but geez that was rough. My top three will never change but it’s those last two that gave me serious pause for the first time during all this.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"June 20, 2017 at 9:57 pm #339694AKAParticipantI was also very disappointed to see “Sympathy for the De Vil” go, but it says a lot for it that it’s one of the few post S3 episodes that made it this far. Agree
This was a little harder than I thought I knew what my top 3 were and i thought I knew what my other 2 would be but I started debating within myself for a little bit. Most of the episodes eliminated were really good/great episodes I think we are just at the place right now that we have to think about what are the episodes we would not mind watching over and over again and never get tired of. Unfortunately there were several that I did not vote for that I love to re-watch.

I think part of the problem is that I am still a Rumple fan but most definitely no longer an Emma fan (don’t like her at all by the end of the series). I would even say that I am more of a Regina fan than an Emma, Snow, Charming fan so I was more likely to pick episodes that favored Regina over Emma. Hat Trick was a good episode about Jefferson but I would have voted for Stable Boy or Heartless over it because as of right now I would much rather watch a Regina centered episode over an Emma one even if it was first season. Manhattan was just an OUTSTANDING episode all together with unbelievable acting and writing especially by Emma (I think this was altogether her best episode along with 1×22). Desperate Souls is how we initially found out how the Dark One came to be Rumple and was basically his first real centered episode. Crocodile is the introduction of Hook, although I like it because of the Charming/Rumple relationship (whatever happened to that), the Milah backstory, and the Rumbelle feels. I guess to each their own.
June 20, 2017 at 10:49 pm #339695hjbauParticipantYeah, but the plot of Desperate Souls with the stupid thread that he used as an accelerant was the first episode with an objectively dumb plot. If you are a Rumpel fan and just seeing his back story is enough then sure, but the episode, in my opinion, doesn’t actually make sense.
The Crocodile is the only episode without Emma in it and it was Hook’s first episode. It was boring and was when i thought that Season 2 was going to be terrible. Now looking back Season 2 is much better then later seasons, but they made such a big mistake by splitting Emma and Snow away from the rest of the characters that they quickly tried to fix it and the show never really recovered from that mistake. I don’t like Charming and never have as a character or an actor. Regina is much better now, but Season 2 was definitely some of her weakest episodes, in my opinion. Cora salvaged Regina’s plotline in that season.
I know that people like Robert as an actor, but i have a real problem with his acting when he is trying to be spinner Rumpel or when he tries to cry. It just doesn’t work for me and never will. The best sad scene for him was when Bae fell through the portal. I think the rest are not well acted. I know that probably no one is going to agree with me on this and that is fine. Agree to disagree.
Emma is still my favorite character. Her dating Hook is extremely out of character and she hasn’t passed the Bechdel test in years with anyone except Regina, but i think Jennifer is the best actor and really all of the characters have fallen to the horror that is the bad writing including Regina and Rumpel and certainly Snow who died like three years ago.
I have actually never taken part in a poll where Skin Deep didn’t win.
June 21, 2017 at 10:00 am #339696thedarkonedearieParticipantRIP Sympathy for the De Vil. Also 7:15 A.M. I think many of you guys forget about good that episode was. Sad to see Queen of Hearts go as well.
June 21, 2017 at 10:09 am #339697bibliophileParticipantAnd I’ve lost another one from my top ten in ‘Think Lovely Thoughts’. The pain… THE PAIN!
Voting for only five is going to hurt, but I did just go to the trouble of ranking all the episodes by season and then a master list of my top thirty+ Once episodes overall so I’m hoping that will help keep me on point.
I agree with that we should revisit some character threads and talk about overall storyline and especially how we would’ve liked each character’s story to play out. We may not be able to change what actually aired, but we can head-cannon all we want.
