So…are they saying the Underworld is base of the Dark Curse or am I just hearing things cause if that’s the case…there’s some Ret-conning going on.

REGINA: You know, when I conjured Storybrooke it was with the Dark Curse. Whoever created that curse – Looks like this is where they got their inspiration.
March 7, 2016 at 1:25 am #318193hjbauParticipantI still say Rumpel created the dark curse, but it looks like they are going to change that.

And then Robin suggested the opposite. Its still unclear, although I think the underworld was based off storybrook, not the other way around.

They’ve gone back on that before already, as far back as Season 2. In “The Crocodile”, Rumple specifically said that he “found” the curse, not “created” it. Implying that the curse itself was created by somebody else, and Rumple merely found it, and altered it with his own touches. Here is the direct quote:
Baelfire, is his name. After he left, I dedicated myself to finding him. I went down many, many paths. Until I found a curse that could take me to the land where he’d escaped.
Also, remember how Rumple had the Queens of Darkness steal the Dark Curse from the Chernabog in “Darkness on the Edge of Town”?
March 7, 2016 at 7:14 am #318211RumplesGirlKeymasterYes, I think Hades is probably the one who created the Dark Curse. When you boil it down to its basics, the Dark Curse takes away Happy Endings, the very thing that Emma restores. I think Hades and Emma are being set up to be opposites of each other (the enemy of life, the savior or life;) It would make sense for him to have created the Dark Curse that she was destined to break.

I like your thinking, but if it’s true, why was Hades more worried about Regina than Emma in this episode? He didn’t even mention Emma. Or would you say Hades first plan of action was to get rid of Regina because of how it would effect Emma?

Yeah Hades definitely created it. And I think it makes perfect sense just as you explained. I think it’s nice that we will find out finally who made the dark curse.

The only thing I can think of–and even then it doesn’t make much sense–is if Hades is under the impression that Regina is the Savior because that’s the lie they told in Camelot.
But other than that, I don’t know. Good question, though
