    The name Zelena is of English origin. The mean is “light”; it can also mean ‘sunshine’.

    It can also be a variation of Salina.

    Zelena is apparently Hebrew meaning Careful, Protective

    So, they chose a name that basically means ‘good’ for the Wicked Witch. Maybe she was a good person once and then something terrible, traumatic happened, snapped badly and became evil.

    Makes sense when you consider, ‘Evil isn’t born, it’s made.’ Keeps perfectly with that theme.

    Yeah, her name has nothing to do with the color green. Lol.  It’s all about being ‘good’ and pure. Which makes sense considered the Snow White kindred spirit spoiler from earlier.

    Zelena does mean green in Croatia.   it’s Slovenian. I can’t decide if I like it or not, but at least she has a name.

    I HATE THE NAME

    Sorry to those who like it but of all the names they could have chosen or come up with they choose Zelena. Yes I know I didn’t like all the other names everyone came up with much but I’d rather Jade than Zelena any day of the week.
