I think Zelena is a beautiful same. It’s the Latanized version of the Old Greek name Selena/Salina, which means moon goddess.

Greek (Selena)- moon, light, shine, heaven
    Latin (Zelena) – heaven, sky

It’s also a name in Greek, Russian, English and German

I guess I wanted something that screams GREEN. This just seems out of left field.

It does scream grean. Zelana literary means color green in my native language, Serbian. Probably Croatian, Bosnian, Macedonian and Slovenian as well. Also if you accent and pronounce it differently then we do, but probably as Americans do, it rolls of the tongue like Selena.

    Thanks for that information!

It’s a pretty name. I’ll grow to like it more as time passes.

It sorta threw me at first, but I think it’ll grow on me. I do like that it still means green, even though not in an instantly obvious way.

It’s a cool name, not associated with some other take on the character.   Plus we can nickname her the Big Z, sounds like a villain name right?

I’m thinking of nicknaming her Zel, myself.
