Emma meets Mr. Kryzszkowski at the Hall of Records in 1×09 True North. When she has trouble attempting to pronounce his name, he says that “everyone calls me K” and she says “Ok, Mr. K” blah blah but what if…it means Kay, as in, Sir Kay from Arthurian legends? It would make sense for him to have a difficult to pronounce name so that it can be shortened to just “K” and not seem overly suspicious. Now that we have seen Sir Lancelot, it is not beyond reason to think that perhaps we have seen another of King Arthur’s knights.

According to wikipedia (so, take with a grain of salt): “..his sharp words actually serve to maintain courtly order” – all we’ve seen of Mr. K is that he runs the Hall of Records and asks Emma to fill out forms in triplicate which would help keep all of the records in order.

I might be grasping at straws, but it seems odd to include a whole section with the name etc when they could have spent the time on something else, especially since this was the first episode that didn’t have the intro promo section. So it seems to me that narrowing in on the name card, and shortening it to “K” etc etc seems like it *should* have some importance eventually…perhaps (although we have yet to see him again).

Not sure of how many knights we’ll actually get to see eventually, but it is possible and this would be a very random call-back where they could say well, he was there all along…

Cool idea. I’d never really expected to see him again, but that may well be where they came up with the idea for his name.

Aha! Makes sense. I was always frustrated by that. He was so defined for only having one scene, so I figured there must have been a specific FTL counterpart in mind. Well done.

I like your theory. I certainly hope we see more of Mr. K. It does seem strange for the writers to throw that out there and not ever mention him again.
