It may be true, we don’t know yet. I also think it would be a nice gesture to have something Emma told Henry about his dad to be true. Maybe he will go to Granny’s and order pumpkin pie. 🙂 .. at an odd time of the year. Then it would really stand out.

You are right. If it was more of a “business” relationship, they would have parted ways after a heist and only get together for planning purposes.

In Season 1 episode 9 when Henry asked Emma if she has anything from his father that she still keeps she said no. So if Neal is Henry’s father well Emma keeps his car and the swan necklace. He might not be the father after all. If he was why would she keep something from him.

Perhaps, to end the discussion. If she said she had items, then Henry would ask specifics about those items and maybe she wasn’t ready to share those details. For example, how would she answer the question about the keychain? Henry: “When did he give this to you?” Emma: ” He gave it to me after stealing it from a convience store.”

Emma received 11 months in prison and found out in prison she was pregnant. A home pregnancy test isn’t really reliable until 5 weeks into the pregnancy. Since she got the keys the same day she found out about the pregnancy, I would assume she had been in prison (actual jail as prison is for those serving a term longer than 11 months) for a wee bit of time. August asks Neal were he has been upon their reunion. Neal explains he was trying to loose / find himself. It suggests that a bit of time had passed between the two of them since Emma was arrested. Since Emma wasn’t “showing” I am going to guess she was about 2 months pregnant. Therefore, I am pretty sure that Neal is indeed the father. A pregnancy (BTW) takes longer than 9 months. You actually carry the child around for almost 10 months. (The 9 month thing is a sneaky little lie they like to tell you. When pregnant, those extra few weeks seem like a lifetime). My question, did Emma give birth in Jail? If so, the child had to go into the foster system until she got out. I also wonder when she made the decision to put Henry up for adoption.

As far as keeping the car. Emma loved Neal. In my mind there is no doubt about it. In her eyes, he betrayed her. She probably thinks the car is compensatory gift for said betrayal. Why did she keep the car? A) it is more than likely the only item she had once released from jail. The car was not only her transportation, but her home. She would need it as least for a little while. B) I am pretty sure jail scared Emma a bit. Hence upon her release she wasn’t going to re-embark on a stealing spree. Once again, she needed the car. C) it may serve as a warning of some sort to her. Perhaps one about not being so trusting and also changing her life and D) I still think she wanted to hang on to the memory of Neal (whether she was willing to admit it or not)

Emma gave birth in jail–it was posted in the Storybrooke Mirror. 🙂 And Regina told Emma in the first episode that Henry was 3 weeks old when she adopted him, so it is safe to be sure that Emma gave Henry up for adoption while she was in jail. 🙂

Also, I agree that Emma loved Neil, and I think she still does. She not only kept the car, but made the keychain he gave her into a necklace, and she seems to truly love and miss him, though I am sure she also has resentment towards him as well, of course.

Well it had been two months later (from the time of Emma’s arrest) to when Neal gave August the keys to the car and then who knows how long it took August to mail in those keys. So she was at least two months pregnant when she took the pregnancy test.
