Theory about the mermaid in "Skin Deep"

The mermaid that Regina was after was Ariel’s daughter Melody.

There is bad blood between mother and daughter because Melody wanted to be mermaid ( complete opposite of Ariel ) but Ariel didn’t want her to be in the ocean. So after making a deal with Regina, Melody started working with her against her mother Ariel ( After Regina made her into a mermaid ).

I don’t think so. They’ve not introduced Ariel yet and Melody isn’t that well known. All the characters they have used so far are easily recognisable to the audience. Melody is not unless the audience has seen The Little Mermaid 2.

I think they will probably use Ariel, since they like to use pieces of the well-known Disney tales, but also pieces of the original. Melody doesn’t exist outside of the Disney version.

As we’ve seen characters have multiple roles in Enchanted Forrest, such as Rumplestiltskin also being The Beast and The Crocodile. It is likely that Regina will replace Ursula, as the witch who turns Ariel into a human etc.
