Regina has been against Snow and PC James this season …. I think she was so twisted and torn by the death of Daniel that she has been taking her wrath out against anyone who was against HAS A HAPPY ENDING AS A POSSIBILITY.
I think we will see Regina as Ursula to Ariel the mermaid ( She was wanting help with a mermaid.)
I think we will see more filler stories where we see other characters being thwarted in their HAPPY EVER AFTER moments by Regina….Frog Princess, Rapunzel, ALICE in WL among them. I also heard the writers have been scouring the translations of the newly found German Grimm fairy tales manuscripts to introduce new characters…. NOW THAT SOUNDS LIKE FUN.
I think Regina will be looking for Gold’s Sword … maybe to get his magic… I think she is willing to sink into even more darkness.
REGINA is a very unhappy woman.

I actually find Regina more frightening because she is very violent when she feels like it and you don’t quite know how she is going to react. I think Rumpel is a lot more dangerous, but he is more predictable so it seems less frightening. We will see where it will all lead next season.

In the moment, Seeing Regina a rage may scare me, but I always know how it’s going to end. Either she’ll mess up, Emma will catch her, she’ll end up unintentionally harming Henry or Mr. Gold will pull a fast one over her.
So, scary? Yes. But effective? No. I can’t truly be afraid of someone who always messes up.

True. But most of her victories have been against Emma. But those don’t hold much value because Emma didn’t know what was going on. She wasn’t aware of the curse. But I guess successfully casting the curse could count as a major victory for Regina. However, that’s more of an example a victory inside of a victory. Yes, Regina cast the curse, but it was really Rumpel who wanted it and knew the true nature of it. I guess that’s why Regina hasn’t been able to successfully enact revenge against MM yet. The curse wasn’t designed for revenge, it was designed to find someone.
But now that magic has come to Storybrooke, I think Regina’s success rate may go up. 😉
June 26, 2012 at 7:52 pm #149166hjbauParticipantWell i would consider the curse a victory. Even though it was ended. She kept them all captive for 28 years and split Emma from her parents which is something that i think will never be fixed. It happened. It is. The time is lost. I would consider that a victory. She killed Snow’s father. She did separate Snow and Charming for a time. She had control of Snow’s kingdom for many years. Though in the end i would assume Regina will lose, but there have been battles she has won even though she will most likely lose the war.
And like you said there have been many skirmishes against Emma that she won. Though they may in the end redeem Regina which i see as a strong possibility.

With magic coming back (Regina will probably get her powers, sooner or later) Regina will not only be vengeful over her defeat, but in losing Henry, and seeing everyone happy will push her to extremes, but I think in a even more calculating manner. She was never stupid in the first place, though her temper got the better of her.
In the first season, she trusted Rumpelstiltksin too much–he basically ruined her rein of power and terror. She’s not going to do the same mistake–she might strike up her own deals to gain people, and get some of her old allies.

But who would make a deal with Regina? She’s gone out of her way to cause harm to even some of her closest allies. She kept Belle locked up, so Rumpel is out of the question. She kept Maleficent trapped underground and it currently dead. The blind witch is dead. And she turned one of the people who helped her cast the curse into a gnome. And for obvious reasons, I don’t see The Charmings making any deals with her either. She’s kind of left out in the cold right now.
However, there’s always Dr. Whale. If he doesn turn out to be someone powerful, he may become a great asset to Regina. However, judging by his reaction to Regina crying on his shoulder in the finale, I’d say not. 😆

But who in their right mind would make a deal with Rumpelstiltskin? He can be just as manipulative as Regina–even more so. Yet there are desperate people who are willing to deal for happiness. We’ve seen Snow White, Prince Charming, Cinderella, and Jiminy all going to Rumpelstiltskin for a solution to their problems, when he was already well-known for being a dark, corrupted, evil person.
It is already over between her and Rumpelstiltskin–he won’t forgive her for what she did to Belle, and I doubt she will forgive him for what happened to Henry. With Maleficent, it could be that there was a falling out between the two of them. Maleficent was not present the first time Regina tried to enact the curse. Something might have happened between the two of them, and Regina (in her own, revenge-style) wanted to punish her old friend. The Blind Witch from Hansel and Gretal was never a friend–she stole Regina’s apple. The only allies that she may have are the people that sided with her when she was planning to enact the curse. There is also the possibility of King George–I wonder if he will want vengeance agaisnt Charming and Snow for taking the kingdom from him.
Doctor Whale seems too much in the neutral right now to predict what side he is loyal to. He seemed close to Regina, yet after everyone gains their memories, he is at a lost. He didn’t go after Regina when she ran away, nor did he look concerned for her well-being, or even pitied her.
