So I’m currently doing my rewatch of the entire series for the Summer hiatus. What makes rewatching intriguing is being able to spot certain things with new perspectives after watching the more recent episodes.
For starters, I was rewatching “The Shepherd” today, and there was a piece of dialogue from David’s mother, Ruth, that I found interesting when piecing together what we learned from the Season 4 episode “White Out.” Ruth mentions how David’s father regretted trading James away to Rumple the moment Rumple took him away, and that he took that guilt to his grave. In “White Out”, we learned that he was battling alcoholism, but died from drunk driving. Putting these two pieces of information together, I now suspect that trading James away was what triggered him to drink in the first place.
Is there anything that comes to mind for you?

So I think that counts as “trying to kill” and of course it didn’t work. Which is pretty sweet.
And old one buttttt……

Zoso tells Rumple that he knows how to recognize a desperate soul, right before he dies and Rumple becomes the new Dark One. Well, at the end of the episode, Gold just so happens to tell Emma “I know how to recognize a desperate soul”, in regards to why he helped her become Sheriff. Little did we know that 3 Seasons later, Emma would succeed Rumple as the next Dark One.

Not only does Aurora tell Philip that she told him not to look for her, but she mentioned how she ended up in her sleeping state because she sacrificed herself. At the end of the episode, Aurora also says that she was asleep for “less than a year”, aside from the 28 years of the curse, which doesn’t match the Apprentice Regina era for that flashback.

Even Rumple’s dialogue “It’ll tear us apart” takes on new depth. The portal scene with Baelfire is deja vu for Rumple only he is now the father instead of the son. In fact any time Rumple mentions his father in earlier episodes takes on a new dimension since we now have actually met Rumple’s father and could see what he was like.

There’s also a deleted scene from “We Are Both”, where Henry gives David a poptart. Poptarts would play another role way later in the Season 4 episode “Breaking Glass”, where not only is Emma seen eating a poptart in present day SB, but is shown stealing them in the flashback.

August 16, 2015 at 4:28 am #307187WickedRegalParticipantIn the Stable Boy, the moment with Cora, Regina, and Daniel brings a whole new depth given the background we learned in Bleeding Through. In Cora’s eyes, she was truly saving Regina from whom she thought was another Johnathan….past grudges caused her to act irrationally and mercilessly.

That is the episode she met a young owen which is two years before Henry was born. It now makes sense the scene in Save Henry where Regina decides to get a child after talking to Archie.

Apparently this is a part of a saying “It’s colder than a witch’s tit
I came across the phrase elsewhere.
