ParticipantThat I can not find any good way of linking the fairytale from Henrys book called “Snow White and Rose Red” to the story.
And for the love of Medusa! – Why do the writers not elaborate more on this one πΏ
I hope we will get some answers or just atleast hints in the next episode. ‘Queen of hearts’ I have a feeling it could have something to do with that storyline. But please, does anyone have eny ideas on this matter ?????
Some questions plus- What we do have so far:
Well Snow White she most likely is -Snow White, but I could be wrong ! π
Who is Rose Red then ? is it really her sister or just friend or something else ??? Maybe Ruby, but I hope that’s not the case because that would be too easy.
Rumple is in there of course, as the little ungreatfull dwarf.
Then there’s the bear, whom Snow White marries π
Everything is hunkydoory in this fairytale, everyones happy, exept the dwarf, the girls help the dwarf even though he doesn’t want it.How on earth does this fit in to anything ? π

Participanthuh? what’s the story about? where did it come from?
November 26, 2012 at 7:07 pm #162426Grimmsister
ParticipantIt’s an old fairytale, by the Grimm brothers I think.
It is one of the two fairytales that we as viewers see, when we can read text in Henrys book. Henry and the other characters might read Cinderella or Snow white and the seven dwarfs or something. But the only text we, as viewers have ever seen in the book is from either-
Snow White and Rose Red
or The Golden Blackbird
I can see the link too the Golden Blackbird, but not the other one.November 26, 2012 at 7:16 pm #162428evilqueen
ParticipantWouldn’t “Child of the Moon” episode nicely cover the story?
November 26, 2012 at 7:30 pm #162431Grimmsister
ParticipantIt does but really if that’s all there is to it I think that, that is most unsatisfactory πΏ
It just seems like such a small part of the overall story. I feel like Rubys story is a parallel too the overall story, but if she is Rose Red and thats all there is too that. Why did the writers make it one of the two leading story/clues in Henrys book ?
To me Ruby is a secondary character, but maybe that’s just me.. π

ParticipantHm, I think quite the opposite – Ruby is becoming more and more important in the show because of her connection with the Charmings, especially Snow. Just because her story is not as elaborate as the other characters doesn’t mean it won’t be π

ParticipantThen the writers seriously have to step up their game soon. Or hers I should say !
But can you give me your take on how the two stories link ? I have my idea, but would really like to hear someone elses to.

ParticipantOk, my interpretation is that Rose-Red (who is just like Ruby, “outspoken and cheerful and loves to play outside”) IS the bear i.e. wolf and the girls both learn to live with it (as compared to original story where bear sleeps at their place every winter night) and control it.
As for the dwarf, it sort of comes down to Rumple but then again, I don’t really want to see him being blamed for every single villain in FTL. But there is a ‘complicated history’ between Rumple and Granny and in the story the dwarf steals all the bear’s GOLD. Although, why would Mr Gold steal it, if he can make it himself? There could be a twist to the story, maybe it’s about the red cape?November 26, 2012 at 8:13 pm #162447Clessidor
ParticipantWell, we saw in “The Thing You Loved Most” that gnome who was one with the darkest souls and got turned into to stone by Regina. He could be that ungrateful dwarf.
So I’m thinking that the Snow-White and Rose-Red Story happened after “Child of the Moon” and we will see it later on the show.
When I’m thinking that Red said in that episode to Snow White after they buried Anya that she didn’t lost her familiy, she protected it. So it could be the point where they became like sisters.βThere were thousands and thousands of forms of joy in the world, but that all were essentially one and the same, namely, the joy of being able to love.β
β from the Neverending Story by Michael EndeNovember 26, 2012 at 9:05 pm #162463Killian Jones
ParticipantWell the original Grimm book the Snow White in that story isn’t the same Snow White and Rose Red is her sister. They way I’m looking at things trying to fit that story to the show is just that Snow White is Snow White and Red is Rose Red and like has been said in the show the stories in Henry’s book aren’t the stories in the traditional sense so what Henry has in the book is the story of how Red and Snow met, how they found out Red was the wolf, then how they met Red’s mother and subsequently the things that happend after between them. Trying to relay the Grimm story to any further a degree than that won’t really work.
