Colin O’Donoghue talks to THR about whether Emma and Hook’s relationship can survive his evil plan and what to expect from flashbacks with the pirate’s father in the ABC fantasy series’ winter finale.
Once Upon a Time is about to enter the depths of hell, and Captain Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) is leading the evil charge.
In the fairytale drama’s season five winter finale, Dark Hook’s plan will take the pirate down his darkest path yet as he snuffs out all of the light in Storybrooke with original Dark One, Nimue (Caroline Ford), by opening up a portal to the underworld. And if he has to take down his ex-girlfriend Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and her family to get the job done, he’s willing to make that sacrifice.

Emma’s non sparkly because she resisted; and the one time she gave in and used some of that dark magic (when she saved Robin), her skin actually turned. Nimue’s skin turned instantly, and Rumple’s transformation began right away, though taking it a bit longer to go full sparkle-happy. But Hook has totally given into the Darkness and yet he remains un-glittery. The only that changed was some heavier eyeliner and an “emo fringe” ‘do

DOs aren’t sparkly when they’re cursed in Storybrooke, but you’re right in that Hook should’ve got the makeup back in the EF. Guess they forgot. Just like they seemed to forget that Emma scene.
And now Nimue seems to keep the makeup in SB, but then again she wasn’t affected by the dark curse.
