Once Upon a Time’s seventh season premiere introduced a completely new story for fans of the fairy-tale series. The episode served as both a reboot and a sequel of sorts, picking up with the story of how an adult Henry (now played by Andrew J. West) falls in love with a new version of Cinderella (Dania Ramirez).

The hour not only revealed the new identities of the returning fan-favorite characters — West’s Henry is a down-on-his-luck author and part-time Uber driver; Lana Parrilla’s Regina is now an easygoing bartender named Roni; Colin O’Donoghue’s Hook is a police detective named Rogers; and Robert Carlyle’s Rumplestiltskin is now a mysterious figure named Weaver, who also happens to be Rogers’ new partner — but it also introduced a new set of characters.

In addition to Ramirez’s Jacinda/Cinderella, the hardworking single mom of Lucy (Alison Fernandez), there’s Mekia Cox’s Sabine/Tiana (from The Princess and the Frog); Rose Reynolds’ Alice; Gabrielle Anwar’s Victoria/Lady Tremaine; and Adelaide Kane’s Ivy/Drizella.

[Alice] She’s going to have ties to a few characters. She’s one of the characters we’re really excited about because I think, as the episodes go on, the fans are really going to like her, really like her vibe, and then, when they see the connection she has to people they know and love, I think they’ll be very excited.

    She’s definitely someone’s kid.

Kitsis: What is so much fun is we saw the Wicked Witch pretend she had a cursed character for a little bit in season three as the nanny. This time she is truly under a curse when we meet her, and her introduction and what her cursed persona is is probably one of my favorite introductions on the show.

Zelena’s cursed too? So everyone but Real Hook and Emma decided to be cursed alongside Henry to help him out? Mmkay.

Ooooh. I’m really interested in seeing curses Zelena.

Idk RG I took the statement about Alice and being connected to someone we know and love as a personal thing. Like people in our life are like Alice and we will grow to love her because of that. I took it to more or less say Alice is gay.

Hm. I see how you’re reading that, yeah. Interesting. I don’t know that the two are mutually exclusive, though? Maybe she’s Rumple/Belle’s kid and gay

And just saying but when Henry has more chemistry with Alice the gay character over his true love Cinderella…there’s a big problem.

I half expect him to have better chemistry with the step sister then Cinderella to be honest it wouldn’t shock me.

Chemistry is subjective and any view of it is meaningless. Their chemistry was no better or worse then the majority of the couples on this show.

I didn’t see any chemistry between Alice and Henry.

Knowing this show she will be someone’s kid. Although I think making her rumps daughter won’t work after the scene in the dungeon place thing. It doesn’t sound like she’s related to him or that’s henry should know who she is. Although Rump did send her to protect henry. So idk.

    Its all confusing and interesting

So Zelena is cursed and in Hyperion Heights too?

And they didn’t bother asking Bex to remain a series regular?

Honestly, I’m a little mad about this. When they announced her return, I just assumed that she’s only be around for flashbacks. But now knowing that she’s actually in town… surely they could have easily negotiated with Bex to remain a regular.
