I’m late watching this weeks episode! The Little Mermaid is my favorite movie of all time. It changed my life. Splash is a close second. Anyway, did anyone else notice the similarities between Tiny and Ariel? They are both curious about humans and their world and both have a collection of human items which end up being destroyed. Neither of them fit really fit in at home. I am wondering if these two characters are going to end up being close friends once she is introduced. Or even better/worse are their stories going to tie in somehow? I can’t see how they could, but I’m no writer either.

I hadn’t thought of that connection before, but it would be interesting if they met in Storybrooke and became friends. I know once Ariel comes on this show, I will be hyper active lady since she is my favorite.

I saw the connection immediately! Anton and Arlo have almost the exact conversation about humans that Ariel has with her father.

Triton: Contact between the human world and the mer-world is strictly forbidden. Ariel, you know that! Everyone knows that!

    Ariel: He would have died-

Triton: One less human to worry about!

Ariel: You don’t even know him.

Triton: Know him? I don’t have to know him. They’re all the same. Spineless, savage, harpooning, fish-eaters, incapable of any feeling-

    Ariel: Daddy, I love him!

    Triton: No . . . Have you lost your senses completely? He’s a human, you’re a mermaid!

    Ariel: I don’t care.

Very similar stories. They both come from worlds away from the humans: Ariel from under the sea- Tiny from up in the sky. They both recieve a ‘gift’ that enables them to live inthe human world, from someone they presume are trying to help them: Ariel, human legs from Ursula- Tiny, human seize from Jack and James..
    Any other similarities ?

They are both trying to run away from people who they believe “do not get them”

didn’t think about this before, but good job on the theory

Ariel was the youngest of Triton’s daughters and I think, Tiny was the youngest brother.

There were a LOT of A names as well. Weren’t all of Ariel’s sisters / Anton’s brothers named something starting with A?

Great everyone ! Maybe this means Tiny is the only little mermaid we will see on the show- Hope not!
I predict Tiny is going to have a thing with a mermaid, that mermaid is going to be Tamara.
