Cora brings the giant to Storybrooke, where he unleashes vengeance on the town.
Greg asks Belle what she saw on the night of his accident.
Emma and Henry go with Mr. Gold to search for his son.
Anton the Giant befriends humans.Gee, ABC thanks for ruining the suspense on the Giant subplot! Not that I’m particularly interested in seeing him again, but I don’t want to read that he comes to town unleashing his vengeance and then he decides to befriend everyone in the same synopsis. It is interesting that Cora can just bring the Giant here in some way. Maybe Rumple should have just had her send him to where Bae was instead of making this long con with the Curse and the Savior.
Of course, if we didn’t already know that Neal is Baelfire, I would say that the Giant coming back the same episode that Emma, Henry, and Gold just happen to go look for Baelfire is a pretty big hint since we found out who Henry’s father was in the same episode that the Giant first appeared.
Anyhow, I am happy that we know the Outsider’s name right away. (Mmm, maybe it’s Greg and not Hook that might be a threat to Rumbelle in the short run.) Any hints on who the Outsider might be now based on the name Greg? It makes me think of the name Gregor, which in turn makes me think of some place like Transylvania, so maybe there is something to him being connected to Dr. Whale’s world assuming Transylvania is Dr. Whale’s world.

I hate when they do this…….grrrrrrrrr………

January 17, 2013 at 2:45 pm #168802RumplesGirlKeymasterInteresting.
How does Cora bring him here? I thought maybe Anton followed Cora and Hook through the portal. If Cora can bring people from other realms here, that speaks to her level of power and really worries me. What is to prevent her from bringing the ogres to SB?
Greg, huh? Greg Barrett. Does that sound Fairy Tale-ish to anyone? I can’t think of any Fairy Tale connections…so is he just a normal human who happened to be driving through Maine?
I wonder how Emma justifies taking Henry with them. She could leave him with Charming and Snow.

Has me nervous as to whether Colin O’Donoghue’s filming in the series will now be current stuff, or just flash-backs. I’ll be heart-sick if they killed Hook off in the present-day story line.
And, why does Cora bring in the giant? To avenge Hook? This has me on the edge of my seat, and confused too. Why so little information about that one character (Hook)? Maybe it’s because of the suspense between #11 and #12. I guess they don’t want to play too much of their hand before the next episode.
I’m still sad because there’s not more information though.
🙁

I have no doubt that Hook is alive and will remain so for a long time. There is still so much drama to be had between Hook/Rumple, Hook/Rumple/Cora, Hook/Rumple/Cora/Regina, Hook/Emma, Hook/Emma/Neal, and even Hook/Neal if Neal is Bae and/or Peter Pan.

Plus, I’m not sure when Hook becomes a regular, it’s fairly soon, so I highly doubt they’d kill him off even before he becomes a regular.
Also, I don’t think Cora particularly cares about Hook, so I’m guessing she brings the Giant to town because Gold, Emma, and Henry are gone, and there’s no one there to really stop there since I don’t think Regina is up to it yet. However, it seems like it backfires on her because the Giant ends up befriending everyone. I wonder if Cora will kill off Anton, or if they’ll just have him living in Storybrooke now and seen sometimes, or she’ll send him back to FTL once it’s apparent he’s of no use to her quest.

On one hand, I’m sort of peeved that it’s so easy for people to get here to our world now when it took Rumple hundreds of years to figure out how to do it, and the Blue Fairy wasn’t knowledgeable enough to know these things either since she’s suppose to be even older than Rumple. Not that I expect her to have the power to be able to help people realm jump because they have said she’s limited in her powers, but I would expect her to have more knowledge than she does of their world even if she herself couldn’t do things. Plus, it ties in with how they just sort of make up things as they go, so there’s a lot of retconning or having to explain away things in podcasts or other mediums instead of on the actual show, which I hate because not everyone has goes to those other mediums.
On the other hand though, it would be even more karma for Rumple if Nealfire returns for Cora to bring the ogres to Storybrooke, and for Nealfire to have to fight the ogres. Of course, he’s older now, but still, I love the irony in Nealfire having to fight ogres. It also makes Storybrooke not as safe as Snow thinks it is, and I think that’s a fair point. They might have modern conveniences, but if people want to go home instead of being trapped here in Storybrooke because of Regina and Rumple, I think they should be given that choice instead Snow just sort shut down the whole thing down when Charming was trying to talk to her about it. Not that I can blame her after everything she’s been through, but it did seem like in that moment, she was just thinking about herself only, and not about her friends that do want to go back.
January 17, 2013 at 4:27 pm #168812PanTheManParticipantI’m thinking the Giant, Anton, probably arrived at the same time as Hook and Cora. Maybe they shrunk him and carried him in a purse. We still don’t know what happened between Hook and the Giant after Emma left them.
to me, the simplest answer is, the giant arrived at the same time as Hook and Cora on the ship.

There’s a part of me that still hopes Hook is Peter Pan. Since hte fans have talked about it I don’t know if they’ll go that route (they’ll want to surprise everybody), but it would be a great twist.
January 17, 2013 at 4:32 pm #168814PheeParticipantGotta love how we’ve all been scratching our heads trying to figure out, “Wonder how the Giant could possibly open a portal to SB?” Turns out it’s Cora doing it for him, in the opposite direction.
Gregory is a masculine first name. It is derived from the Latin name “Gregorius”, which was from the late Greek name “Γρηγόριος” (Grēgorios) meaning “watchful, alert” (derived from Greek “γρήγoρηῖν” “grēgorein” meaning “to watch”).
Through folk etymology, the name also became associated with Latin grex (stem greg–) meaning ‘flock’ or ‘herd’. This association with a shepherd who diligently guides his flock contributed to the name’s popularity among monks and popes.

For real. 😆 We kinda already knew he’d end up being buddies with the good guys though, given that we know that Charming was helping him by pulling him out of a hole.

There were photos of him on set when they were shooting Tiny. He appeared to be in the same area where they were filming the Giant being pulled out of the hole.

I’m still going to maintain some optimism and be happy. Neverously happy. With the way #11 ended last week, I’m still on pins and needles. They did a great job keeping us in suspense until the next episode.
