Not sure if this has been posted anywhere yet, (too many articles floating around) but I couldn’t remember having seen this quote from Jared anywhere before, (it’s really the only new bit from the whole article).
Henry’s family has reason to worry, Jared S. Gilmore, the boy behind Henry, told TODAY. “(Henry) will slowly start to trust Pan — and begin to like him,” the young actor confirmed. “Eventually, (Henry will) come to the point where he doesn’t know if his family’s coming to save him (and) this could be his new home. He starts making friends with the Lost Boys and Pan. In a way, (Henry) is a Lost Boy. He’s lost, he’s away from home, he doesn’t know if his family’s coming to find him.”

We’ve always seen this kid had a sneaky side, and sass but what happens when you take out that hope and faith that good will win? Like any parents, Regina and Emma have made mistakes and faced hard choices (in Regina’s case, usually of her own making), but with Pan whispering in his ear, Henry might start to resent rather than forgive, to blame instead of love. Henry’s always seemed a bit of an outsider as he grew and changed, but no one else did. Now he’s with a group of peers (though he did look much more of a “boy” than all of them!) who probably tell him they will never let him down like Regina or send him away like Emma. Yet we know it’s all starting from a lie. His parents DO love him, they are trying to get him. I hope even if Henry starts to trust Pan that it won’t be too late for Henry to love his family too and keep believing in them!

October 8, 2013 at 9:03 am #214687RumplesGirlKeymasterIt fits my theory that PP needs Henry to hand over his heart willingly, for his new family and friends. While PP is out psychologically torturing his family, PP is acting like the older brother Henry wants.

October 8, 2013 at 4:57 pm #214778PriceofMagicParticipantIt would also explain why PP doesn’t just kill Henry. PP, Felix and the Lost boys are going to have to show a softer side to Henry if they want him to trust them. Perhaps this is where Devin comes in?
All magic comes with a price!
Keeper of FelixOctober 8, 2013 at 7:22 pm #214792Hook’s GirlParticipantI agree too. There is totally a reason why Pan hasn’t taken Henry’s heart yet. I like the theory of wearing Henry down mentally to then have him sacrifice his heart willingly.
Nothing is impossible on OUAT. Everything has a way of repeating itself. Keeper of the Keeper tread: https://oncepodcast.com/forums/topic/official-keeper-thread-3/#post-217924

Keeper of FelixOctober 9, 2013 at 10:00 am #214848SlurpeezParticipantI still don’t think Henry’s literal heart must be sacrificed, either willingly or unwillingly. I think Henry must willingly let his figurative heart become in sync with Neverland in order to restore magic. I think PP needs Henry to be alive, not dead, which is why he wants Henry to fully accept being a Lost Boy.

I agree that Henry offering his figurative heart would be enough–taking a heart doesn’t mean death so if PP took his literal heart it would amount to basically the same thing if Henry synched his heart to NL (but it remained inside his body).
