I think PP could begin to chip away at Henry’s unwavering belief that his family always finds each other by keeping Henry in the dark about his family being in NL. Yet, I think PP is mistaken when he says that Henry hasn’t forgiven Emma yet:

    From 1×1:

Henry: You don’t have to be hostile. I know you like me – I can tell. You’re just pushing me away because I make you feel guilty. It’s okay. I know why you gave me away. You wanted to give me my best chance.

Emma: How do you know that?

Henry: Because it’s the same reason Snow White gave you away.

    From 2×14:

Henry: You know… I forgave her. Emma – for giving me up. She thought it was the best for me then. That’s why she did it. I’m sure your son will get it, too.

Mr. Gold: Alas, the circumstances surrounding our separation weren’t quite so noble.

Henry: But…you’re here now. And, you want him back, right?

    Mr. Gold: More than anything.

Henry: Then, that’s all that matters.

When Henry finds out that Emma is there in NL and that she wants him back, that is all that is going to matter to Henry.

I think PP is speaking falsely when he says that Henry hasn’t forgiven yet forgiven Emma:

I agree. I think that line was directed more at breaking down Emma than it was speaking about Henry’s current state of mind. But while Henry may have forgiven Emma, it doesn’t mean he wont’ start to feel close to the lost boys, or that his forgiveness may fade in the face of all the orphans and Emma and Regina NOT rescuing him right away. Does he even know that they are in NL? Did PP tell him? He has faith that they will come, but what happens when we’re 6 or 7 episodes in and they still haven’t rescued him?

I don’t think Henry has any idea that his family is in NL. I believe that Peter Pan won’t tell Henry either, because that would give Henry real hope of returning home, whereas PP wants Henry to want to become a Lost Boy.

Agreed. And by about episode 6 or 7, with no sign of Regina or Emma, PP lays on the “we’re your family now. They’ve forgotten all about you. Trust us.” Which leads up to the whole “by the way, I need your heart to power my island and keep us all young. You’d be saving your (new) family!”

I think PP was playing on Emma’s fear.

maybe NL needs good magic of the heart of the truest believer like weve been told that pan is in tune with every grain of sand on the island maybe pans belief isnt enough i actually dont think pan can fly anymore if u watch closely he drops after jumping it is henrys grip that keeps him up i think the lost boys were genuinely shocked too maybe that’s all they’ve been waiting for .. now imagine what henry can do when he knows how to use that belief fully maybe thats what the island needs it does run on belief afterall … but maybe to be in tune with the island the person needs to stay there forever till another takes over… no one has ever wanted to do that for pan or been enough of a believer to do it.. until henry..
