I know how to access the door. One of the characters just needs to blow on the page, and the door will float off the page and form a real door. “The spells are in the book.”
Yep. That’s because it’s written in squid ink. Or something.

One big giant pop-up book. Pick your story, blow on the door, enter at your own risk. Plus, if a dwarf dies, is he really dead? Cuz, Stealthy.

Sounds like something they’ll do, actually. It’s what Regina and Cora did in s2
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"March 23, 2015 at 7:33 pm #299649fumerunnerParticipantSince August said the picture was the door, I keep thinking about the movie Mortal Instruments: City of Bones and how their Mortal Cup was hidden inside the card of the cup. It took someone with a special skill to be able to see and release the cup which is a strategy I can see working with the Author’s door as well. Just like the enchantment the Sorcerer placed on the hat box, the door will also need a very obscure requirement in order to be visible and broken.
Here’s my theory: Henry will be the one to discover how to open the door as the product of not just true love but specifically the union of light (Emma) and dark (Neal) rooted in a deep belief in magic and the written word. Might be totally wrong but putting it out there.

I like your theory a lot. If Henry doesn’t play a really significant role in this Author plot I am going to be pretty upset. It’s HIS book after all.

I adore this theory. Henry has the heart of the truest believer. Let him believe he can find the Author and he will. However, there may be unintended consequences.

True but for some reason, I feel it will be more connected to Snow. She gave it to Henry, sure, but remember the book only appeared to HER. Twice. Even when Emma went searching for it in the closet, it only appeared when Snow looked. Its very odd.

I’d hate for the door to open for someone who opens it for selfish reasons.
But, I hope it’s not tied to something like “only the person with the heart of the truest..whatever..can open the author’s door.”
It better be meaningful when it’s opened.

Squid ink which was re-introduced in the most recent ep, so yep, this sounds like a probable theory.
March 23, 2015 at 11:15 pm #299676PheeParticipantHow much power and control the Author has might lead to a reason why he was trapped behind the door. If he’s someone who actually had influence over people and could create circumstances that led them to make bad choices that led them to become villainous, then perhaps he was locked up – let’s assume by the Sorcerer – because he was leading people astray, like the proverbial “devil on your shoulder”. Basically what I’m getting at I guess is Sorcerer/God kicked Author/Lucifer out and slammed the door on him, hoping to rid everyone of his influence. So if they let him out of the Door and back into the world, they may end up wishing they hadn’t.
