It did change though, he wanted Rumple to be the man he was not the man he is. Belle loved him no matter who he was. I’m not saying it wasn’t a small change, but it was enough to render TLK null and void between Bae and Rumple.
When put that way, I guess I agree too TLK probably might not have worked between Bae/Rumpel.

But why not try what did they have to lose if the kiss didn’t work. Even Kathryn kept trying to kiss what his name when he was turned into gold.
July 27, 2013 at 6:32 pm #202395RumplesGirlKeymasterRight but it’s like I said above: Bae didn’t know about TLK. Rumple and Milah never had it and if Milah and Hook did have it, Bae was never witness to it. I get the feeling that TL and TLK are somewhat rare (hence why it’s so special). It’s not like people in Bae’s village were going around kissing and breaking curses all the time. But I also think you’re asking, why didn’t the BF tell him about it. Ok reason I can come up with:
1) Blue knew it wouldn’t work
2) BECAUSE SNEAKY FAIRY IS SNEAKY."He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"July 27, 2013 at 6:38 pm #202397PriceofMagicParticipantBF might not have told Bae about TLK because, if it didn’t work, Bae may have felt that Rumple didn’t truly love him or Rumple may have felt that Bae no longer loved him. Since Bae was the only one at the time who was kind of able to keep Rumple in check, it wouldn’t have been a wise idea to risk destroying that bond between the two.

Keeper of FelixJuly 27, 2013 at 6:46 pm #202398JosephineParticipantI wonder if Blue dismisses the power of True Love. She seems kind of against it. She said fairies don’t fall in love. If she’s never fallen in love, does she really know the power of it. Plus, “True Love” is the most powerful magic of all–meaning that it’s more powerful than even Blue’s magic.
Notice that it was only after the Belle debacle that Rumple seemed to cotton on to the power of “True Love”. Remember he traveled down many roads trying to find a way to come to the world where his son was. He sought magic slippers and beans and anything else that he learned of. He had hundreds of years of life but only after he had first hand experience of the power of true love did he try to go out and capture it. His own “brief flicker of light” was extinguished (or so he thought) so he sought out another couple, Snowing, to use for his master plan. He knew the power of true love and knew it was a key to getting what he wanted.
I think Blue doesn’t really understand, or maybe she just doesn’t like that true love is more powerful than her magic. She didn’t like Dark One! Rumple because his magic didn’t belong there.
I do keep coming back that the Enchanted Forest was dying. I joke about Blue, but maybe she’s the ultimate puppetmaster and wanted everyone gone because the Enchanted Forest was dying. There were no more enchanted trees, the beans were missing and no more to be found, and the mines were closed. So that all makes me suspect she knows something that nobody else does.
Like I’ve said before, I’ll probably continue to distrust Sneaky Fairy until the last episode of the series. Once I distrust someone, it’s hard to change my opinion.

July 27, 2013 at 6:51 pm #202399RumplesGirlKeymasterJo makes a really good point. Blue doesn’t seem to understand the power of true love, though she’s always supported Snow and Charming (as I type that I reflect that she may have supported them only because of how they relate to Henry). One of the first reasons why people were suspicious of Blue was because she split up Dreamy and Nova.

Yeah, and then in “The Return” Morraine just happened to come upon Baelfire and tell him about Blue and she happened to have a cure for Rumple’s Dark One problems. Seemed too convenient to me.

July 27, 2013 at 7:15 pm #202401PriceofMagicParticipantWe don’t know a lot about Blue and I think that may be where some of the distrust comes from. We don’t know why she does things, she may have had a good reason to split up Grumpy and Nova but we don’t know what that is, perhaps love is poison to fairies or something.

Evidently thinking about the Blue Fairy channels my inner Bon Jovi. 😛
I do wonder if Blue is the most distrusted character on the show. We know Rumple and Regina are layered and messed up. Even Snow had her little internal crisis. But Blue is portrayed as this all-knowing benevolent being who does suspicious things for unknown reasons. I just don’t trust her.
