Besides RH and Hook, anyone got any other possibilities. If the new love interest is going to be made known soon (within the first 5 episodes) then, unless it’s flashback, he has to be in NL. Other pirates? A merman?
[adrotate group="5"]"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"August 9, 2013 at 12:46 pm #203898SlurpeezParticipantOf the two possibilities I would rather Tamara be RH’s daughter cause that’s been a thorn in my side since “Lacey.”
I’m with you there, RG. If I had to choose, I’d rather RH beTamara’s daddy than Regina’s lover.
Again, while I’m not opposed to RegalHood in principle, someone with a strong, internal moral compass like RH might struggle to forgive the atrocities Regina has committed. Also, the fact that Regina murdered her own citizens for harboring Snow White might mean RH was a wanted criminal for harboring Snow. After all, Snow did hint in “The Evil Queen” that she’d spent some time in another forest learning to hunt (sounds like she spent time with RH in Sherwood Forest). Moreover, Robin Hood stole from the rich to give to the poor, and Regina is opulently rich and probably because she taxes her citizens so much (before she slaughters them). Yep, there’s a lot to overcome there.
As for Regina’s new love interest if not RH or Hook, then I’m betting on someone in NL. There are other pirates there, yes?
You could even be onto something there, RG, about another unnamed pirate being Regina’s love-interest. If not Hook, then possibly there is another dashing pirate lurking around NL who might relate more Regina’s struggles not to do evil than would RH. A lot of people have rejected Hook, given his own duplicitous nature, I’d actually love to see Regina be in love with someone who is like herself. It would be a chance for her to look at her own reflection in the mirror and actually see how doing wrong hurts others. Plus, pirates do love treasure, and surely Regina has some loot stored away (not meant to sound dirty, btw). By being in love with a “recovering pirate,” who also has likely committed atrocities, has wronged her or even been wronged by her, it might just make her feel, dare I say, sorry for what she’s done. Okay, okay, so I’m still stuck in my Hooked Queen OTP mode. But there could be another pirate (Captain Jack Sparrow hehe) to steal the heart of an evil queen.

A merman might also suffice nicely. We’ve all been assuming that a “certain mermaid” must be Ariel but it’s possible that Regina met a nice man with fins during that dealing. (The word mermaid might be generic for referring to both men and women, like the word human applies to both men and women). Or maybe, Regina has yet to meet this merman in NL, and it could be a certain take on the “Little Mermaid” story. Perhaps Regina will be tossed into the sea during a storm and he’ll save her life? That would certainly satisfy a “surprising” way for them to meet.

He let Emma go, even though he did love her because it meant Emma would find her family. Neal must have felt some love for Tamara otherwise his actions wouldn’t make sense.
He probably didn’t love her as much as he loved Emma, but he loved her or believed he loved her to an extent.

I know. I was only kidding/wishfully thinking out loud 🙂

August 9, 2013 at 12:51 pm #203902JosephineParticipantThat’s what makes the crack so believable. We only know that Robin is coming back, no mention of Marian, Tamara with mysterious parentage and a couple with a baby only brought up once. Last time we had a character’s child that showed up for only one episode and then not mentioned for awhile, it eventually turned out to be Henry’s father. Marian was sick and pregnant for a reason other than to just show Rumple’s burgeoning human side.
It’s funny how the mind works. You have something planned out in your head and you just can’t think of any other option. I won’t be heartbroken if all this doesn’t pan out, but at the moment I can’t see it going any other way with the evidence we have in front of us.

August 9, 2013 at 12:55 pm #203904RumplesGirlKeymasterRegina, I think when all is said and done, needs to be with someone who is just as morally off kilter as she is. She is not Regina from Stable Boy anymore. She may want to be but part of her will always be the Evil Queen. She needs someone who can temper that in her, but also enjoys it in her. Pirate seems to be the best bet. I was HookedQueen before I began thinking about Hookriel and then I was doomed for all of time.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"August 9, 2013 at 1:00 pm #203906PriceofMagicParticipantAgreed. RH is too moral for Regina. Plus they’ve already got the one “evil” partner/one good partner going on with RumBelle.
Don’t see HookedQueen happening since Hook is tied up with the CaptainSwanFire triangle.

Well, if we’re getting Ariel, chances are we’re also getting Triton. But they won’t be around at the very start of the season, so he’s out of the running.
I do hope we get Davy Jones at some point, but I’m hoping he’ll be Hook’s dad, and again, we haven’t heard anything about that story being told at the start of the season.
Even if there were other pirates around, would they take a detour at the start of the season for us to get to know them? Unlikely IMO, because they’ll want to keep a sense of urgency and focus on the mission to save Henry. All interviews suggest that there will be a focus on the JR6 and how they do or don’t work together, and other random pirates drifting around in NL would just distract from that.
They can’t stick Regina with a no-name. She’s iconic, and her partner will need to be iconic in his own right if their relationship can be portrayed as being balanced. After the business with Graham, I doubt they’ll pair her up with someone she’d be superior to ever again.
Yep, there’s a lot to overcome there.
Ah yes, but as a wise (though cursed) woman once said, “if true love was easy, we’d all have it.” 😉

YES to all of this! Get out of my head. 😛
