Oh HE I absolutely agree with you! He is a 300 hundred year old brain guy, but he was meant to be an 18 year old. And there is the squemish factor of the audience I mentioned. If he wasn’t cast as an 18 year old, then I may feel different (though Slurpeez brings up an excellent point about sides) but he was supposed to be a teenager who has been living in NL for a long time. It’s a problem.

After all we are suppose to learn how Henry was adopted.
As for the adult relationship, I am still not on board with RH there has to be someone Regina meets in NL in order to have an on going relationship either it is Hook, Felix or someone else. As I said before we all assume that no one could leave the island but that Felix guy left to meet Hook out to see in his ship, so they have to have gone out to meet other ships and people to enhance their knowledge some how plus get supplies.

RegalCat may have the age issue but it is far less complicated.
Is 18 considered the age of adulthood in America? In Britain, once you are 18 you are legally classed as an adult. So I have no issue with the age difference between RegalCat because Felix, at 18 is an adult.

The age when you can drive is 16, which is also the age of consent in some states. Other states, the age of consent is 18. Males have to register for the Selective Service at age 18 and that is the age you can vote. But other things like drinking you can’t do until you are 21. States also vary on what age to charge teens as adult for various crimes. Additionally, some states allow for teachers to prosecuted for relationships with students even if the students are 18 in high school because they are under the care and protection of the school. The best I can say is each state has its own laws governing it. It’s all very complicated. I’ve heard of cases where parents have had their child’s boyfriend or girlfriend who is 18 or 19 charged with statutory rape when their child is 17 and younger. They might only be a few months apart in age. If convicted, those 18 year olds would have to register as sex offenders for the rest of their life. It’s very confusing and there is no clear cut answer to when adulthood begins.

I would much rather have Tamara be RH’s daughter and not have RH be Regina’s new love interest but I don’t think the two are mutually exclusive and the more spoilers that get leaked out the more likely it becomes that it’s RH.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"August 24, 2013 at 7:20 pm #206602SlurpeezParticipantHas it been stated anywhere that Felix is officially supposed to be 18? I thought he was supposed to be 17. If so, then that does raise the issue of whether Felix would be of an age of consent (despite chronologically being potentially hundreds of years old). His body and his mind would forever be frozen at 17, just on the brink of adulthood without actually being an adult. Since this is a “family show” which has a range of younger, more impressionable viewers, I’m not sure it would be wise to pair a teenager with a mature woman nearly 20 years his senior (the same would be true of a 17-year-old girl and much older man). Once a person turns 18, he is completely independent in the eyes of the law in the US, no matter which state he lives in. The only thing that might vary from state to state is the age of sexual consent being age 16, but that doesn’t make a person a legal adult. In summary, even if a 16-year-old can have sex, he/her is still considered a minor in every other respect. Normally, no 16-year-old is permitted to even go to an R-rated movie without an adult chaperone, and normally no 16-year-old could ever vote in an election or join the US military. The few exceptions might be if a child is “emancipated” from parental custody by a court of law, or a minor can marry with parental consent before age 18.

Regina not only adopted the biological grandson of her mother’s ex-boyfriend, she ended up adopting her stepdaughter’s grandchild. A little weird, but Rumple never did marry Cora or feel fatherly to Regina and Neal never thought of Regina as a sister.
I think they have confirmed they are doing the Henry story, or given such a strong hint I would be shocked not to see it, but I think they have given two separate clues. So I don’t think the Regina love interest is just Henry entering her life. I think we will see both things, but she may not meet the person who is her love interest. So it does NOT have to be someone in NL. It could be someone she met in the past or it could be someone the audience meets and she meets later. If you have ever seen Sleepless in Seattle, the leads do not meet until the end. Yet you meet both characters early on.

August 24, 2013 at 7:42 pm #206605JosephineParticipantI was looking it up after I posted. The age of consent in the US ranges from 16, 17 or 18. My state has the age of consent as 16, however the other party can’t be more than two years older if the younger partner is under 18. They can be charged with statutory rape. So in essense, if you’re under 18 and having sexual relations it’s only legal if the other person is under 18, also.
I agree, it being a family show the thought of having a “teenage” boy involved with a mature woman isn’t going to fly. If this were cable television, I’d say yeah it would have a good chance of happening, but I can’t see Felix as viable option for Regina’s affections.
Regina’s love interest just may be another sailor in Neverland or even a Native on the island. The problem is we only know the casting of those they’ve put out a casting call for and/or announced. If they privately contacted a specific person who didn’t have to go through the auditioning process we won’t necessarily know until they want us to be privy to it.

August 24, 2013 at 9:33 pm #206611RumplesGirlKeymasterI think the fact that there is so much “gray” about if it’s legal or if Felix still has the mind of a 17 yr old is the big NO NO here. Even if A and E try to sell it, there will be a lot of people who are (I keep using this word) very squemish about someone who is known as a Lost Boy (or lost one, they keep changing with no clarification) dating a woman close to her 40s.
If it is NOT RH then it has to be someone in NL and I’m going to count out Hook for now because despite the joke Adam made (and then quickly backtracked when he saw how people took it) there will not be a love rhombus. CSF is heading out into open waters and Regina isn’t going to be along for the ride (I do love a good pun joke). So either it’s a pirate we haven’t met or maybe a merman."He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"August 24, 2013 at 9:50 pm #206614SlurpeezParticipantI think Regina could potentially have a romantic interest in a man other than Hook. However, Regina won’t yet be ready for romance and so will let this man go.
However, I also think that Neal will re-enter Emma’s life, and Emma will let Hook off gently (after a little romance with him).
That will leave Hook an eligible bachelor and he could find himself in Regina’s lonely arms.
At least, that is how it happens in my imagination.
