It just strikes me as odd that they would introduce something so *very* evil as Satan-Stand-In-Chernabog for only one episode before returning to Mal, Cruella, and Ursula…three villains who will pale beside the Lord of All Evil…
In Buffy, they introduced The First in an episode of one of the earlier seasons then had The First be the big bad of the final season.
And ONCE and Buffy are even remotely in the same league and run by the same show creators? Just because Buffy introduced the First in the third season and then brought it back 4 seasons later doesn’t mean ONCE has the same sort of endgame and longevity in mind.

Oh please. One writer does not a show make, esepcially when that writer–while very good–is not actually *in charge*. Buffy had Whedon, a god of TV. It was also a totally different network with totally different standards and ratings expectations.

To be fair, I could see POM’s idea somewhat happening. However, this is more realistically how I could see this playing out. 412 really just gives us a taste of Chernabog, but could return by the end of this Season. A&E tend to think one or two story arcs at a time.

That I can see the latter. I cannot see them shelving Chernabog for 4 years down the road. Unless there is a *permanent* ratings spike, ONCE is not going to have that long left. I’m not being mean. It’s just a basic TV ratings fact.

I only brought up Buffy because you said it would be “odd that they would introduce something so *very* evil […] for only one episode before returning to Mal, Cruella, and Ursula…three villains who will pale beside the Lord of All Evil… ”
I was merely making the comparison that introducing the ultimate big bad for one episode only to bring them back in a larger capacity later on has been done before. I was also pointing out that both Buffy and Once has Jane Espenson in common. At no point was I saying that Once was going to follow in Buffy’s footsteps.

Hmm.. I think it means they are going on some kind quest to find something together. It does seem like Rump is showing them a map…. How curious… I still think they are goin to the Land Without Color.

It’s Oz-like in that you have a Dorothy (Rumple) with three companions (the QOD) on a “journey” of sorts to see the Wizard/track down the Author for their happy endings.

February 14, 2015 at 2:16 pm #295978TheWatcherParticipantTheory: Rump and the Queens are going on an Oz-like Journey. To Camelot. Rump has obviously had some interaction with the QoD and they knew about the gauntlet. I think he needed their help to get into Camelot and steal it but as he said, things didn’t quite go their way, so I assume they aybe tried to outsmart him or betray him for the gauntlet. Also, if they go to Camelot we probably will see Merlin and A&E said we would find out the identity of he Sorcerer early on so maybe there is that.
