Hm I think so too, WWW was “killed” by the Shadow in the past and is now “alive” and looking for revenge–or was “captured” by the Home Office anyway and now is set free.

January 28, 2014 at 8:47 pm #241339PheeParticipantI’m picturing a half eaten Greg Mendel walking through the EF now trying to eat Regina’s brain.
😆
Seriously, it’s odd that the article mentioned Greg specifically. But yeah, Tink said there wasn’t much left of him, so he was likely eaten by wildlife, and Adam tweeted he was dead, though they’ve since revealed that having your shadow removed doesn’t actually KILL you, it just incapacitates you to the point of looking dead, unless and until you get your shadow back. But Greg would have to basically be a zombie if they brought back his half eaten corpse, so here’s hoping they’re referring to someone else.
January 28, 2014 at 9:49 pm #241347kranenParticipantUgh. I’ll be so peeved if it is Greg. Not only would it go against what Adam said, but it would go against what Tink said in the actual show too.
EMMA: Greg & Tamara? Where are they? Why did they give you that?
TINK: I got it off the girls body. I spent half the night cleaning the blood off it. And the other guy – Well there wasn’t enough left of him to find anything useful.

Um. Say wut
So, the boy was his undoing? Or the shadow was his undoing? Totally confused, but as long as Rumple’s alive (in whatever state he’s in) I’m fine with it.

When is the next Once Upon a Time Lightning Round? — Ryan
Soon, I promise! But in the meantime, I’ll give you a tease: The destruction of Storybrooke didn’t reverse anyone’s deaths — unfortunately, The Huntsman (Jamie Dornan) is not coming back to life — but one particular death may have been undone thanks to the burning of the Shadow. Related: Where is Greg Mendell (Ethan Embry) these days? Find out in the next Lightning Round!I’d been asking Adam on Twitter about whether or not the deaths in Storybrooke would be reversed since Storybrooke never existed because of Regina destroying the curse, I never got an answer, so it’s nice to get this bit of clarification.

Keeper of FelixJanuary 29, 2014 at 4:33 am #241360PriceofMagicParticipantSeriously? I liked the Owen part of the storyline but not the way they handled the Greg part so much. It was like too much on top of too much and not enough pay off with magic versus science. Embry’s acting also didn’t wow me, but he’s been cast in movies before so I feel maybe it was the writing there that made him seem so clunky?
You know awhile ago before he died we had this theory if they did Oz there might be a connection to Greg, since Embry stared in a Oz related movie, that was set in NY and had The WWW wanting to take over multiple worlds. Watcher I think saw it (someone on the forums did) and said it was horrible so I never bothered to try to watch it. Then again, this could be a trend here for Embry….horrible movie, maybe it wasn’t the writing with Greg.
I forgot the name of the movie but it sounded eerily like OUAT in that sense of “fairytale characters in the real world but they don’t even know it” way.
Embry was in an episode of house and did some good acting there so I think it was more the writing of Greg and the dialogue. Some characters have had to say some awful lines before and the actors had to do their best to make them work.

Keeper of FelixJanuary 29, 2014 at 4:53 am #241361PriceofMagicParticipantWickedRegal Participant I’m willing to bet thirty cookies here and now that the death reversed will not be anyone on Once whose died…but someone whose supposed to already be dead! I bet that it will be the Wicked Witch of the East! The reason I say this is because if Wicked Witch of the West is going to be a villainess…there has to be an even worse villainess than her…and who else better to raise from the dead than the Wicked Witch of the East? I can see the WWE raising more havoc than any other villain, and would give us a way of having a truly merciless, vile, wicked woman with no remorse for anything she ever does!
Oh that’s a really interesting theory! Intriguing! A new character, whom we haven’t met, “returning to life” would be most interesting. Perhaps the Blue Fairy’s “death” wasn’t pointless after all? Perhaps it foretold the return to life of the Black Fairy (aka the Wicked Witch)?
That is an interesting theory. When Pirate Hook first arrived in Neverland, Felix warned him about Pan’s shadow ripping, so it was implied that Felix had seen shadows being ripped before. Unless there were other ships in Neverland or Pan was ripping shadows off of lost boys, how could Felix have seen shadows being ripped before Hook arrived in Neverland?
Crack theory: What if Felix wasn’t originally from the Enchanted Forest but from the land of Oz? He could recognise the sentries had been knocked out with a sleeping spell without actually seeing it happen, how would he know that unless he could recognise magic? What if WW isn’t Regina’s sister but someone Cora was enemies with who is now trying to get revenge on Cora through Regina, like how Cora tried to get revenge on Eva through Snow?
WW could be older than she appears.

Keeper of FelixJanuary 29, 2014 at 6:36 am #241374DemiletoParticipantSurprised to see Greg’s ressurection being hinted. Admittedly it’s the very logical consequence of Blue returning to life with the destruction of the Shadow (perhaps added to the plot to make room for Greg’s return?), but I have to question why.
Greg’s conception could’ve easily brought a potentially great Regina story where facing the most terrible consequence of her evil actions – turning a good person she once cared about into a monster – would lead her to reflect on what she’s done and how it keeps hurting those she loves without ever bringing the fulfillment she craved, but they trashed this from the very beginning: for all her talk about keeping Owen’s keychain to remind her of the time they spent together, Regina has never shown a single drop of care for his adult self, effectively rendering Greg’s character so pointless his and Tamara’s demise in the season premiere reeked of Nikki and Paulo’s from LOST: a quick gruesome death and moving on to sweep the mistake under the rug. Why, then, bring he back? What’s the point?
Ugh.
In all fairness, there’s an easy “oh, snap!” solution for this: someone else got there before Tink and took his body away, possibly cutting small bits and pieces of his body like fingers or earlobes to cover his/her actions.
January 29, 2014 at 8:05 am #241387RumplesGirlKeymasterIF it is Greg, I don’t see how he is important to the story anymore.
