I kind of doubt this about Rapz too Regina gave her a year off without magic and to someone show up that has magic would kind of defeat that purpose.
[adrotate group="5"]January 4, 2014 at 12:02 pm #235155TheWatcherParticipantChris Gorham as Flynn Rider makes sense. That would also explain why they are keeping his name secret. His name could really be Eugene (as his real name was in the movie) and he is going by Flynn in our land. Or vice versa. Flyn was a thief so he could have taught Emma how to steal after Neal or whatever.
But then again,how reliable afterall.

I’m thinking it’s either Charming-centric or it’s meant to start off an arc for Charming.
I agree. I think Rapunzel’s episode (3×14) is more Charming centric.

I agree with Hookian that it is not necessary for them to be doing “Tangled”–versus a more classic folk-tale Rapzunel spun in a new direction. They didn’t do Disney’s Mulan with Shang and Mushu (oh how I wanted Dragon to be Mushu…and not dead …).
Side note: Please no more killing dragons on this show–they’re ruining great opportunities for throw-away moments. RIP Dragon sassy dude and Maleficient.

With the casting of what we assume is Rapunzel’s father, I would say they are going more traditional. In Tangled, her father was a king and sort of unimportant to the overall story, but in the traditional story, her father plays a much larger role: selling her to the witch.

January 4, 2014 at 8:45 pm #235219kranenParticipantthen why isn’t he in ep 14 then if he has a connection to rapunzel.
We don’t know for sure that he isn’t in episode 14. He could have shot inside the studio for all we know.
January 9, 2014 at 2:43 pm #236039SlurpeezParticipantCan someone Tweet the writer for TV Guide and ask whether Chris Gorham’s character is really connected to Emma and Rapunzel, or whether that’s speculation? I don’t have Twitter otherwise I’d volunteer to do it. If it turns out the spoiler is accurate, then I’m inclined to say Chris Groham’s character is Eugene.
