I’m thinking Hook maintains his memories of the “missing year” because he strikes off on his own. He clearly separates from the group in the EF pretty early on, if spoilers are to be believed, and then there is a picture of him on a horse. I think it’s safe to say that Hook doesn’t come to our world along with everyone else via a curse. I think he finds some alternative means of arriving in our world separately from everyone else, and that is why he now knows that Emma’s family is in danger. He probably remembers the Wicked Witch while everyone else in Storybooke has been cursed to forget. Now, if Hook escaped the curse (as it seems he has), how he knows that the WW even cast another curse is a very interesting question indeed.

But assuming the NewCurse just picks up everyone in FTL and dumps them in SB, same as the previous Curse did, then how would Hook avoid that if he’s anywhere in FTL? If he NOT in FTL when the NewCurse hits, then how does he know that everyone else is in SB and he has to get Emma back there?

I’m assuming that Hook separates from the group pretty early on and leaves EF before the new curse hits via some other means (like a portal of some kind).

That is the question that I’m asking, too. Maybe Hook has some inside knowledge from Zelena or Blackbeard. We have to wonder how Hook gets to our world separately (assuming he does) in the first place. He’s been known to partner with witches before like Cora. It’s not out of the realm of possibility he’s formed a similar alliance with someone in the know.

perhabs Blackbeard is the key to that. If he has some history with Wicked and knows what she is doing. Hook somehow ends up with him and is perhabs in a different land or just protected from the curse. Then Hook goes free.

I don’t think Hook or Neal would intentionally set out to harm Emma or her loved ones but obviously, Wicked could play either one of them in some way.  She’s apparently the type to sidle up to people, make them think she’s on their side and then use them.  Sort of like what RUmple did right, in S1 with using Regina and Snowing to get what he wanted?  Well, I could see a similar thing happening here  where Wicked might use either or both guys in some way to pull off her scheme–or for all we know there’s even ANOTHER player on the board using people.

It’s not a chess match–it’s a free-for-all apparently, with Rumple, Regina, Pan, Cora all having long range plans that affected many lives, now we hear about Glinda and Wicked.   Then there’s that Sneaky Blue, and the name dropped Black fairy out there–who even knows!

I am just confused by Hook’s story.

He could know the family is trouble because he was in SB when flying monkeys and green smoke began to appear.

He could know because he set out on his own but how would he know to go to SB and not the EF?

He’s wearing the black vest in the hospital scene and NYC but the red one in FTL.

    *confused*
