Interview with a few of the stars, including Ginnifer, Robert, Lana, Josh, Eddy…
TV Guide Magazine: What’s the coolest thing about the season finale?
Robert Carlyle (Mr. Gold/Rumplestiltskin): Sneezy, who went over the town line, might be getting his memory back.
Edward Kitsis (executive producer): And if he gets his memory back for a happy dwarf reunion, I wonder what other characters could, too?
Carlyle: There’s a lovely moment Emilie de Ravin [Belle] and I shot that Rumpbelle fans will love. But in Once style, it doesn’t last long.Eeek! I don’t like that last line though haha.
Moderator’s Edit: This comes from a larger interview done by TV Guide. The full interview was posted by Slurpeez this morning, so I’ve merged the two topics. Feel free to add more to the conversation already happening! Thank–RG

I’m not sure we will see SB again. Henry said he always expected everyone to go back to the EF one day. Plus, purely form a storytelling perspective, SB has served its main purpose, which was to house the residents of the EF during the curse. Now with the curse broken and the option of returning home, I don’t see why they’d want to stay in our world. Also, it’s too hard to have 3 simultaneous plot-lines going. In the first part of S2, it was really dissatisfying to a lot of fans to keep track of SB present, EF flashbacks, and post-apocolytpic EF all at once. By eliminating SB, we will mostly focus on NL, EF flashbacks, with maybe just a quick glimpse of the dwarves and fairies back in present-day EF. But the major focus will be NL for the first part of S3, and maybe moving on to Oz or other lands by the second-half of S3.
Oz! Yes, Oz! But I think you’re right and it was hard (for the more casual viewer) to keep three lands and times in their head. So I think we’ll have something similar to S1, NL of the past and NL of the present. But I can also see them having one or two filler episodes where we leave NL and check in on the cast in the EF.
I actually suspect we’ll see a lot more present day EF then you think. Remember the set pics of Neal, Aurora, Philip & Mulan? I suspect that Mulan & Co. will help Neal find a way to Neverland to be with Emma, Henry, and Gold.

I agree, but I think that storyline will be resolved by the end of S2. I don't think we'll be seeing MAP after S2 and I hope that Nealfire has been reunited with his family in NL by the end of the season.

I think it’s a pretty sure thing that SB is going to vanish into thin air, just like it appeared out of nowhere.
I’m inclined to agree. So a few questions that brings up:
1) What happens to the rest of the cast? Dwarves, fairies, Red/Granny, rest of the townsfolk?Minor main characters like Ruby and the dwarves will dedicate themselves to recolonizing the EF.
How many useable beans do they have now, though? If there are none left on the vines, then there’s only what’s in Regina’s office, and GOAT are gonna get those. When they had a whole field of beans, fair enough, everyone gets a bean. But they’re in short supply now. We know that GOAT use one. We assume that Charmings&Co use one to transport Hook’s ship. But where is everyone else in SB gonna get a bean to be able to get home?
Or will there be some other portal method discovered before season’s end?
Once Henry is kidnapped and Regina teams up with the others to find him, she’s got no need to destroy SB any more, so will it even actually happen?

Valid points you raised. Yet, having watched the first 10 mins of 2×21, the fail-safe gem is now in the hands of GOAT. That just spell disaster in my opinion. If she somehow triggers the self-destruct button, there won’t be anything Regina or Rumple could do to prevent SB from vanishing. So, the rest of SB’s residents would have to go somewhere. How many beans were there? At least 2, but maybe 3. One will be used for GOAT to kidnap Henry to another world, one will be used by Hook and Co. to track down Henry, and if there is a third bean, my guess is the dwarves and other minor characters would travel to EF.

True. They don’t know what it is yet though. Tamara’s all, “What’s this?” and Greg’s all, “Dunno,” and Tamara’s all, “We’ll send it to head office.” So unless Regina told Hook, and he tells them, or Regina spills the beans herself, (unlikely), they don’t even realise what they’ve got as of the start of ep 21.
So, the rest of SB’s residents would have to go somewhere. How many beans were there? At least 2, but maybe 3.
Yeah, I’d guess 2 or 3. Seemed to at least be a couple in the bean pod that Tamara opened to show Greg.

Well then we get into the mechanics of how many people can jump into a single portal before it closes. The hat that Emma, Snow and the Wraith went through closed up before Charming had a chance to jump in. Jefferson and Regina jumped in their hat portal together. Snow and Emma jumped into their lake portal holding hands. GOAT are gonna jump into a portal while they’re hanging onto Henry.
The only time we’ve seen a larger number of people travel on one bean, it’s been Hook’s ship. I’d been thinking that they use the ship again from SB purely because it’s the only way a large number of them can travel together and guarantee that they all end up in the same place. Now it also makes sense if they have limited beans and lots of people who need to use it.
But there’s no vessel big enough to fit every other left over SB resident if they only have 1 bean to use between them to escape before the town implodes. 😕
April 29, 2013 at 3:32 pm #189670RumplesGirlKeymasterWhat if the self-destruct/fail safe gem doesn’t kill everyone like Regina thinks it will, but sends everyone who isn’t on the JR back to the EF?

Wouldn’t be the first time Regina doesn’t understand the curse, making me think Rumple designed the curse to have have a fail-safe to take everyone back to EF. Regina actually believed him when he told her that killing the savior would break the curse. This led to Henry being poisoned and Emma actually breaking the curse for real so Rumple could go find Baelfire. He might have always planned to find his son and then return to the EF, along with everybody else from SB.

I think it ultimately depends on who created the fail safe. If it was Rumple, then I doubt it kills everyone because that wouldn’t serve Rumple’s aim of being reunited with Bae and having a family again. If Regina created the fail safe, then…I can see it killing everyone. lol.
