Once Upon a Time is finally returning to Storybrooke — but it won’t be the joyous celebration that everyone is expecting. That’s because our ragtag group of heroes and villains have a stowaway on board in the form of Peter Pan (Robbie Kay), who switched bodies with Henry (Jared Gilmore) before being locked up in Pandora’s Box.
“It’s really cool that I’m actually able to be Pan,” Gilmore tells TVGuide.com from the set of the ABC fairy tale drama. “It’s very interesting for me getting to study Robbie; some of his facial expressions and how Peter is very cocky and mischievous. It’s very different because I’ve been Henry for so long and now I’m a completely new person. I was excited because out of all the characters I’ve ever wanted to be on the show, it was Peter Pan.”
After spending the first half of the season in the perilous Neverland, Emma (Jennifer Morrison) can’t help but feel the worst is yet to come when they return to Storybrooke — something she’s become accustomed to with being the Savior. “In this episode, Emma can’t shake the feeling that something’s still wrong and a lot of people around her think she’s just used to being in crisis,” Morrison says. “She’s still on guard and doesn’t feel like she has the luxury of letting her guard down to be thinking about Neal [Michael Raymond-James] or anyone beyond that.”
A false sense of security is exactly what Pan wants as the residents of Storybrooke welcome the group back with a party at Granny’s. “Because it is such a welcome return to Storybrooke, that’s what allows the next set of events to kick off,” Raymond-James says. “We are back and we are elated and feel the job is done and it’s time to celebrate. We didn’t see things that we could’ve seen. We may have let our guard down a little bit because we feel we’ve won.”
It’s Emma who is the first to notice something is off with Henry — which you can read more about here — but not everyone will be as keen to face these tough facts. “Regina’s a little blindsided because she’s just happy her son wants her,” Lana Parrilla says. “She can justify it by saying, ‘I saved you, so that’s why you want me.’ I don’t think she knows that he’s different or that he’s acting different. She’s just so elated to have him and for him to want her.”
Suffice it to say, the #SaveHenry campaign is not over yet! “[When] all these terrible things start to happen in town, we realize that something’s off, that we must not have captured Pan or somehow he’s controlling things from the box,” Morrison adds.

Must have been so cool for Jared to get to play around with being someone different.

This is making me sad, because she’s gonna find out that the kid isn’t really Henry after all. Hopefully she’ll get a big hug from RealHenry when it’s all resolved. I was saying the other day that perhaps FakeHenry would insist on staying with Regina in a bid to cause tension between the parents, and also get close enough to her to get some revenge.

Interesting that Jennifer Morrison singled out Neal by name. I wonder why …

The five seconds we saw of Henry who is not Henry in 309 was done well, so I think Jared is gonna do great!
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"December 6, 2013 at 11:09 pm #228608MysteryKat25ParticipantHonestly there’s no context for what she was actually asked so I’m sure there IS a reason she singled him out by name, but we don’t know what that reason might have been. We can guess and interpret however we wish, just throwing my 2 cents in because this issue bugs me every single time we get an “article” about anything with quotes.
(I”m getting massive horrible Colin quote flashbacks that were so far off base from what we ended up seeing and the interviewer was finally like “yeah I specifically asked if this was an option, it wasn’t something that he offered up”) so…take it however you wish but I highly question anything that doesn’t give context for what was asked and how, regardless of what information it brings.
No wonder this fandom freaks out over every article and then wonders why we didn’t get what we thought we were being promised! I blame the gazillions of articles that word things as sure things that aren’t even quotes, and the lack of context in all of it. I’m starting to hate reading these things more and more because of it, but I do in the hopes of getting some little nugget of something at least.
Sigh & *cookies* for all. Interpret however you like, just putting my 2 cents on the matter cause it doesn’t make much sense without the context. When did people stop actually putting their interview in there? Sometimes it’s bad enough when they weird their questions strangely but at least then we have that to try and make some sense out of the answer.
JMO in particular is pretty good about answering what is asked and keeping certain things close to the vest so in this case I feel like she was specifically asked about Neal which is why she answered that. It’s the times when a question has nothing to do with it and something is brought up instead that I think it means more, but again – we have no context here.
*Shakes fist at article writers that don’t bother with context* Why must they make life difficult and not give us the whole picture?!?

December 6, 2013 at 11:23 pm #228611RumplesGirlKeymasterI think it’s worth pointing out that the only other two people sitting there with JMo in this interview are MRJ and Lana. Neal is literally in the room with her so I think it’s a natural thing to say the name of the person/character sitting next to you. *shrug*
There are a quite a few instances where JMo has given interviews and all she mentions is Hook and Colin isn’t there. And both sides are quick to jump on those and interpret as they do. Either “typical media spin” or “ENDGAME!” Interviewers for these mags as of late are lazy as heck. Random sprinkled quotes without the question or the whole answer. If I wrote an academic paper in this manner, I’d be beaten with a switch.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"December 6, 2013 at 11:48 pm #228619MysteryKat25ParticipantAgreed times a million RG. Some interviews, if I know the context of them, mean more to me than others, and it’s easy to jump on anything that sounds hopeful to your side, but this seemed very random with no context. (I didn’t know until you mentioned it that the only others with her at the time were MRJ and Lana which could have shaped that).
There have been tons of interviews where she’s been straight down the middle because the question is posed that way and others where it doesn’t even seem to warrant mentioning either and one or the other is mentioned and some that came out ages ago that I thought settled everything and even had context but here we are, still waiting for actual answers from the show.
The question could easily have been SF skewed (like most of the S2 official podcast) or it could have been in general. I’m far more interested in the answers that *shouldn’t* have anything to do with either and then one is randomly brought up as if it’s the first thing that comes to mind than I am by *imagine question here* *insert guy’s name out of nowhere that will fans to think something and possibly raise or dash hopes*
It’s getting old. Fast.
Both sides are welcome to interpret interviews however they wish and I trust the shipper threads to either rejoice or despair however they wish or toss it out the window because it’s probably ridiculous hype anyway. I’m just sick of “let’s give the fans tons of hope on BOTH sides and not expect people to be upset with us for leading them down that path” so I hate the idea of people holding onto it TOO much without there being any context whatsoever.
I actually wasn’t going to mention anything (even though I was raging seeing it in the first place because I knew it would be trouble and cause more pointless drama) but since it WAS mentioned in this thread, I hope nobody took it as “CSer just doesn’t want it to mean anything” because this is the only place we can ALL talk about this together. I think context is something worth mentioning regardless of who it’s about. Just because I’m a CSer doesn’t mean I want to rain on anyone’s parade. Everyone’s entitled to cheer when something they think is a good thing happens for their ship, be it a quote or a picture, with or without context. We won’t know til the show but it won’t stop anyone from getting excited and we ALL do it! So have fun! This is just neutral territory & both sides can have opinions on something. That’s what shipper threads/safe havens are for! I have a lot of SF friends. This is a good one for you since she singled out Neal. Enjoy it!
I’m just sick of the garbage attempts at “interviews” that just rile people up. Without context, it’s left open to interpretation and everybody can go off and do that however they wish. Until it was mentioned I was planning to ignore it, but I know some people DO take everything said in articles and seeing things be pointed out might make them think that it’s more and panic without any actual evidence of anything so thought it would be ok to present an opposite interpretation as well.
It makes me very sad that people that write these things think nothing of it and some actually get paid for it. Life is SO unfair and people are cruel. I wish we could just see video that had everything in it for everything and then we’d have context and hear tone and see what’s going on. *throws something*
*passes out cookies* I really hope I didn’t offend anyone even if it is neutral territory. I assure you none of it was personal against anybody who isn’t one of the writers of such annoying articles that give us nothing but more problems within the fandom!

December 7, 2013 at 10:08 am #228659kfchimeraParticipantI agree context is everything. It says little about J.Mo’s opinions on Emma’s priorities on one man versus the other.
That said it speaks a lot to the narrative POV in this one media interview about Emma’s priorities.
The interview is Henry and 3 parents not Love Triangle (yay!). As always the questions they asked probably did hint in that direction of the plot black hole of Emma and “her two handsome guys”. What is interesting is the writer did not bring or edit Hook into it regardless of how J.Mo phrased her answer. This season it seemed like even a request for scoop on Neal prompted some answer about Hook (not even when in relation to a question asked about Emma).
The same happens to the Charmings when people asked if we see more of them in flashbacks the answer was Yes, wait until you see who told Regina about Charming breaking the curse! So to finally see ONE interview that talks about Neal without any name check of Hook stood out this season. There were many last season but this season as I said not so much.
