The Season 5B theme, “Unfinished Business,” becomes evident in the premiere (aka Episode 100) as Emma, Rumple et al encounter foes and family — Cora and Peter Pan included — in the Underworld, which in small part “looks like a screwed-up version of Storybrooke,” says co-creator Adam Horowitz. And though our heroes embarked to save Hook, “That impetus is the tip of the iceberg,” Horowitz makes clear. “That’s just our entry way to another world and a wealth of stories that impact all our characters.” As the saga unspools, Emma “comes to terms with the fact that her role as Savior is just beginning,” the Charmings realize there are “consequences to their headstrong jump to the Underworld, leaving a child behind,” and Regina and her mom have an “interesting” reunion, given Cora’s dying words — all while Hades (Greg Germann) lords over his domain, harboring an “important,” non-familial tie to someone. Though left behind in Storybrooke, Belle “becomes very involved” in the main arc (as does Oz-tracized Zelena), while Ruby and Mulan resurface (with a third party?) in Episode 18.

Finally! Some confirmation on when they’re back!
Also, predictions on who the third party is? I’ll say Dorothy (since we know that she first appears in episode 17 and has a multi-episode arc).

That definitely squashes any of the speculation that Jamie’s tweet was referring to OUAT. Clearly she was telling the truth.

Oh! So breaking the curse, escaping out of EF away from Cora’s wrath, battling Cora, bringing Neal home, going to NL to try to rescue her son from Peter Pan clutches, leaving and then returning to Storybrooke to battle the Wicked Witch, sucked into the past, fixing and then escaping the past, owning up to and accepting her magic, battling the Queens of Darkness/Rumple, sacrificing herself to save Regina and Storybrooke by becoming the Dark One, battling the darkness, succumbing to the darkness, then becoming free of the darkness was the opening act of Emma’s journey? (Sarcasm drenched in venom)
“Her role as the Savior is just beginning?” No…just no.

One would think they would already realize that….but okay
all while Hades (Greg Germann) lords over his domain, harboring an “important,” non-familial tie to someone.
He seems to have some sort of tie to Zelena.
Though left behind in Storybrooke, Belle “becomes very involved
What defines very involved. I get the feeling A and E’s definition of that is very different than fans.

Oh good to know what episode. And the other part is Dorothy? Or Merida since Ruby, Mulan and Merida already have history.

This I believe is going to be a heartfelt reunion, and if anything, Cora will try and help Regina I suspect. Because Cora never kept her heart in her body, she never could truly love her daughter like she should have. We saw her dying words and her face when she looked upon her daughter for the first time with her heart inside her…….Regina will finally be able to spend some time with the mother she never got and vice versa. This I am looking forward to seeing, assuming that’s what happens.

I really hope this is not super dragged out. Zelena’s evil plan was so dragged out in season 3B and I think it dragged down the story a bit. I will not be pleased if Hades just appears every once in awhile, delivers some cryptic lines that won’t make sense until the finale, and A&E don’t let us in on what he’s thinking or what his plan is until the “important non-familial tied” person is ready for their episode.

Agreed. You would think they would’ve thought about their son, the baby Snow was so desperate to have because she missed out on Emma’s childhood, but nope, they just jumped headfirst into this new quest.
The main issue here is that the story is now plot driven rather than character driven. It makes no sense character wise for Snowing to just up and abandon their young child for the sake of Hook. However plot wise A&E need them in the underworld so they make Snowing and other characters do stupid things just to get them from point A to point B instead of letting the characters direct the journey.

Cora’s ghost wasn’t exactly the most friendly with Regina and that was after her death where she had her heart put back into her body.
All magic comes with a price!
