But MRJ being in Vancity wasn’t even remotely a secret.

Also I would not consider Neal a fan favorite, at least not the way AA and Matt M view OUAT. They both follow the fandom (Matt M more so) and they know that CS/SQ is a far more popular ship and that any time Neal is mentioned they are hit with a ton of negativity. So there’s far too many X’s against this to be Neal to make it confirmed.

Eddie Thawne on The Flash. That’s my guess.

Ooh, I like that guess! That would fit way better with the “no small feat” part, as it seems nearly impossible!

But I have actually been expecting it ever since he was sucked up into that vortex! My tagline at another forum since then has been “Eddie’s in the space-time continuum”! ? (Whoever gets that joke, raise your hand. ? )

Oh Eddie will totally be back someday. All through season 1 there was speculation that he’d become Cobalt Blue. Then in the finale they used cobalt to fix the thing and that, along with Eddie’s body, got sucked into a vortex of inter-dimensional blue light. Felt like obvious setup so they can bring him back in a later season as a big bad Cobalt Blue IMO.

Whether MRJ returning is true or not, one thing’s for sure. The timing of these recent events has been bizarre. The Mark Isham leak, Sean’s Instagram photos, and now this Blind Item. It’s hard for fans not to suspect that something is up. It remains to be seen if this means anything, or if this has been a series of mere coincidences.

I can believe this could be about Neal. There’s no one writer credited with the article, and if Matt had anything to do with writing it, he’s someone who I could see labeling Neal as a fan fave. Maybe no other writer would, but Matt was a Neal fan, and as such would be aware that there are indeed many in the fandom who loved the crap outta Neal.

The bit about filming in secret still fits if MRJ shot his scenes and was finished before any of those pics of him in Van surfaced.

The bit about it being a tricky thing to pull off, given how the character was written off, could refer to how they’ve insisted that Neal is deader than dead. Or (conspiracy theory time) it could refer to it haven taken some convincing to get the actor back, given how their character was treated by being killed off in such a stupid way.

And this article popping up right after the speculation of Neal’s return. I could see Matt going to A&E to ask about it, and them saying they didn’t want it officially confirmed, so they agreed to the blind item instead.

Basically, all things considered, I’m calling shenanigans and getting all my tables lined up for easy flipping when Neal likely shows up in some infuriating circumstance.

At this point, I do think it’s far too much coincidence to not be leading to something. Now I’m just hoping that they won’t damage Neal even more than they already have. That his reappearance has nothing do with him spouting platitudes to Emma, not seeing Henry, and being ignored by his father.

Alas. I hope for too much.

    PLOT TWIST:

    It’s Graham. Not Neal.

    You say that but:

    Graham was killed by Regina

He had feelings for Emma and Emma began to have feelings for him so you’ve already got that “love triangle” element for CS. Add in Milah and it becomes a quadrangle as both parts of CS then have temptation.

Graham is brown haired and bearded like Hook but without all the baggage and dark deeds which would make him a more appealing prospect than Hook which would cause Hook to worry.

    Graham has ties to Snow

The issue, again, is that word improbable. We’re going to be in the realm of the dead. To not see them–both Neal and Graham–would be strange if you just think within the confines of the story, not the extra narrative of what’s happened in the outside world in the past few years (Jamie’s rising stardom, fandom wars, new shows, ect). Seeing dead people in the Underworld isn’t improbable, so unless the writer of the article is using that word loosely then it doesn’t refer to Neal/Graham. Neal might still be appearing (less likely is Graham) but this blind item could be hinting at another show/character.
