This doesn’t jive, though. I mean, yes, having the Brothers Grimm during the Author plot would have made a tremendous amount of sense but its not like OUAT doesn’t re-tread already walked upon ground. They are constantly plagiarizing themselves, reusing old ideas or themes in new seasons. The Author Isaac dealt with the book and answered those questions. But, for me, the big question of how our stories are so different from what the Onceiverse has shown is still a big question and one that A and E keep saying they do want to answer…so I do think it’s the Brothers Grimm and we’re going to learn how the stories of the EF, NVL, ect ended up in our world. That’s really the final big mystery to conclude the entire series.

Did they answered already who made the drawings at the book? or they said was magic? if they didnt, then they still need to mention that.

Do those descriptions match with the Grimm brothers though? I mean, sure the show takes liberties with how they portray characters, but the Grimms were actual people with documented real lives, and weren’t they close to each other? Writing them as they are in those character descriptions would be quite disrespectful to the actual, real people if they were brothers who loved each other and worked together very well.

Another idea randomly came to mind. It’s a bit of a stretch, but no harm suggesting it anyway. The Frollo brothers from the Hunchback of Notre Dame. Yes, in the original novel, Claude Frollo has a younger brother named Jehan Frollo. I randomly thought of it because I was reminded that this year is the 20th anniversary of the Disney film, and the cast recording for the new stage musical based on it recently came out the other month. Jehan wasn’t in the original Disney film, but he was added to the musical version that I just mentioned. Granted, the film wasn’t a huge success for Disney, and they tend to largely ignore it, so I’m not so sure that they’d be pushing for its inclusion on OUAT. I guess including the Hunchback of Notre Dame wouldn’t be any weirder than the idea of them doing the Lion King, though. Not to mention we did get Cruella, when the idea of adding her to the show felt ridiculous prior to Season 4. Frollo is fondly looked at as one of the strongest Disney villains, with a lot of credit going to the late voice actor Tony Jay.

Hunchback of Notre Dame is quite adult for a Disney movie. Plus Esmeralda would provide a POC character. However it’s quite churchy (the clue is in the title) so I don’t know if they would do it in that respect.

Just going to throw this out there even though I know its unlikely but what if the brothers are:

    Roy & Walt Disney.

Now THAT is an idea.  The brothers grimm seems too….how do I put this, less mainstream.  Like many wouldn’t know or care about the brothers grimm.  But with Disney…oh boy now that people can sink their teeth into.  And it makes a lot of sense.  And Walt has been referred to already on the show…..hmmmmm….

I think it could work if both brothers were authors and one of them became corrupted. I could see walt as the benevolent younger brother, but I think hes actually older than Roy.

    Idk. Just an ideas.

Also, we have yet to see how Peter Pan got the picture of Henry centuries before Henry was ever born. While I doubt we’ll ever get an answer to those types of questions (what with this being the show that tells us “your questions are pointless”), it would be nice to get some of those lose ends wrapped up. I was hoping we’d get at least some of those answers from the author, the apprentice, or the sorcerer, but many things remain unresolved. Having season 6 be the last season and introducing the Brothers Grimm as collectors of folklore and fairytales might be a way to resolve some final lingering questions (again, I’m not really counting on it too much, knowing these writers, but I just thought I’d mention it). Having August and the fairies return in S6 and showing them to have a connection to the Brothers Grimm might be a nice way to go about it.

I think they need to connect the fairies so badly.  For the amount of power they possess and what they allegedly represent, they have been the most neglected out of everyone.
