I am not going to even TRY and quote this since, whenever I try messing with the code, it goes awry.

Alice’s journey down the rabbit hole is officially coming to an end as ABC has confirmed the cancellation of Once Upon a Time in Wonderland.

The April 3 episode, previously referred to as the season finale, is now being pegged as the final episode of the Once Upon a Time spin-off.

It’s important to note, however, that this “cancellation” only means there won’t be a second season of a spin-off set in Wonderland. A source tells TVLine this does not rule out the possibility of another Once spin-off set in another realm (e.g. Transylvania, Tattooine, Neverland, Arendelle), though there are no plans for one at this time.

Ostensibly, in success, Wonderland could have spun a new tale with some ongoing characters in Season 2, but Season 1 was always designed as a closed-ended story.

    Not surprising.

But we’re going out with a BANG. These past few episodes…wow. I think I might be enjoying as much if not slightly MORE than ONCE

As much as I enjoyed Wonderland, I think this is the right decision. The story got off to a slow start and picked up by the final episodes. It was always meant to be more of a mini-series than a full-blown, independent series and the writing reflects that fact. The first run of episodes were somewhat “filler” and the story could have been told over 8 episodes rather than trying to expand the narrative to 13. Originally, it was going to air during the hiatus, but ABC made the wrong decision of making it a parallel, rival show, and the low ratings sort of reflected that poor decision. It would’ve drawn more viewers if ABC had just put the spinoff in the same time-slot as the parent show during the winter or summer break.

Well, we all knew this was coming. But where do you guys think the next spin-off (if any) will be set?

I agree. These last 5 episodes are some of the best of the entire season.

I think a Neverland miniseries would be a welcomed spin-off over the summer or winter hiatus. There were so many unresolved questions and things we never got to see. Not once did we see Tinkerbell and Peter Pan interact! We didn’t see how the Darling children ended up in Neverland. We never saw what Hook did for Peter Pan as his employee.

If they ever did one, then I agree with @Slurpeez108 Neverland is the best option. But I want it to be a 6 episode summer hiatus series that end after the 6.

Included would be: Tink, Hook, Baelfire, Pan, Wendy and the Darling Brothers, and the Lost Boys. Just answer some questions and move on.

I don’t think the Darling bros would be included much, and how often did Pan visit Wendy in her cage?

But the main cast of a Neverland spinoff should definitely be Pan, Baelfire, Felix, Tink, Hook and some guest appearances by Wendy.

I think a spin off (if they ever do another one) will only work if they use popular characters from Once that we are already familiar with. They don’t have to be part of the main cast. But following characters like Nova, Whale, Ruby, on whatever adventures they were once on or what they were doing while the main cast was going something else could be interesting. Idk

The issue with a Neverland spinoff is that Rose McIver is now booked as the lead for the show iZombie airing on the CW, which I believe will air in the Fall. Dylan Schmid might have gotten even more noticeably older to play 14 year old Bae, too.

Honestly, I could see an Oz spinoff also happening. Similar to Wonderland, rather than Dorothy being on the parent show she would be the lead for the Oz spinoff. Could take place in the past, and could also star Zelena, Glinda and other potential Oz characters. Oz also has a huge mythology to dig through.

Yeah, that was expected. I hope though some of the characters make it back to Storybrooke. Like Will.
