So like I said above, I just finished watching Oz the G and P.

If you haven’t seen it, go watch it. I really think we’re going to need it for the second half of the season.

One thing that really struck me was in the film they chose to name the woman who becomes the WWW, Theodora. Why is this interesting? Because Theodora and Dorothy are incredibly similar in name. Both are derived from the Greek words theos (god) and dora (gift)

Of all the names for the WWW, and they chose one that matches the heroine of the Oz book? Odd.

But what if ONCE decides to take this and run with it? What if they have Dorothy and the WWW be the same? Like, Dorothy never left Oz but decided to remain and study under the original WWW? And now Dorothy (Rebecca Mader) has come to SB as both Dorothy and the new WWW. And maybe she’s out to get Regina because Regina was the Evanora to the original’s WWW’s Theodora (seriously, go watch the film)

I think the rights for MP are debatable.

It’s likely that they would need permission from the Travers estate. Adam and Eddy still needed to get the rights for Peter Pan, and the Disney film didn’t automatically allow Once to use those rights. The same likely applies for Mary Poppins, and getting permission from the Travers estate to make an evil Mary Poppins probably wouldn’t go too well. Plus, the article said “iconic villain”, and Mary Poppins isn’t iconic as a villain in the slightest. While they did get away with making Peter Pan evil, they cited that the inspiration came from Pan’s desire for remaining forever young. How would they twist Mary Poppins as a villainess, especially when she’s “practically perfect in every way”?

Maybe Mader is both Cruella De Vil and the WWW. Afterall Perdita did call Cruella a “witch” Bothe had their own theme tunes “Cruella De Vil” Cruella is from London

Ok so I have a crack theory for Mader’s new villainess since we have so many weird family connections.  I was thinking that either she is actually Medusa or Circe, from Greek mythology as well, who is actually Medusa’s sister or mother out for revenge. I know crazy and maybe not iconic….but I think since the show is meant to revolve around the Charming family which now includes all of our core cast by the way this would be a fun way to do that.  S ince she is according to greek mythology the goddess of witchcraft this would mean that Emma would have to take more lessons from Regina to combat her.  What would really be fun is if Ursula winds up being in this little family as well, perhaps as Circe’s sister.  They team up Circe v. The Charmings and Regina v. Ursula  forcing the Charmings and Regina to team up once again….ok I know its a crack theory but I really like it.

Or maybe we don’t need circe at all and Medusa is just related to Ursula…either way it would be a great way to bring two iconic villains into the mix…hmm and maybe they could make cruella and medusa one and the same…another crack theory…

Except Snow killed Medusa in the last episode.

There are more than one Gorgons, not just Medusa. But it doesn’t fit with any iconic villain or theme song type thing

my crack theory–she is the wicked witch but in the cursed identity she thought she was Miss Deville fashion designer and she wants revenge on Regina.  So  she has her memories in this next curse in the same way rumple built in a fail safe for his.

I think that is an interesting idea and an unusual way to put Cruella and WWW together.  I like it! 🙂
