Question: Can you offer up any clues on the location/setting for the second half of Once Upon a Time Season 3 (premiering March 9)? Will it take place entirely in Storybrooke, or will there be trips to another never-before-seen world? — abz
Ausiello: Better than clues, we have cold, hard facts. More akin to Season 1′s storytelling, “The second half [of Season 3] will take place between Storybrooke and the Enchanted Forest,” series cocreator Eddy Kitsis told Matt Mitovich. In other words, EP Adam Horowitz underscored, “It’s not a ‘journey to another land’ paradigm” à la the Neverland arc concluding Dec. 15. “We always have the ability and the desire to dip into other lands, which it’s more than likely we shall do,” Horowitz added, “but it will be in the way that we’ve done it in the past, as opposed to locking all of our characters onto a boat and sending them [to a new realm].”http://tvline.com/2013/12/03/glee-season-5-dianna-agron-returning-quinn-returns/

NYC? FTL of some random AU with odd clothing?!
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"December 3, 2013 at 6:15 pm #227842RumplesGirlKeymasterGiven what we know (SB and FTL) and given the pictures and all the oddness of them, I think 312 is n AU style episode.

December 3, 2013 at 7:36 pm #227852RumplesGirlKeymasterMy entire theory goes like this:
312 is an AU episode both ways: NYC and FTL. It is a chance for Emma to see what life would be like in both places and the people she would be with.
313 begins our typical SB present day and FTL flashback. Everyone will be in SB for the season. This new curse does NOT send anyone anywhere. But MAYBE it does bring some folk from The EF, like Robin Hood cause we know OutlawQueen has gotta happen.

I agree, I think 312 is just going to be an awesome, completely different episode but then we go back to SB/EF. We know Robin Hood comes into play somehow so SOMETHING brings him over. I think Adam and Eddy learned from the beginning of season 2 that splitting the core cast up doesn’t work so well, so I am glad we won’t have people sent back to the EF, some people in NYC and some people in SB lol.
Although if 312 is an AU, why is Hook in NYC? Maybe in an AU he would’ve been someone Emma had to bring in for bail lol, which would be hilarious. But then he’s in the EF as well…..I don’t know lol, this is insane.

Hook is a confusing factor. Other characters might have been in NYC stuff too, but he’s the only one we have confirmation on. If he’s in both places, then it would mean we’re being shown two different AUs in the one ep, which might be overkill and confusing.
So I’m still inclined to think that the stuff in NYC is actual present day. It’s either that, or Hook’s jumping back and forth, but I think the fact that he’s wearing all black in NYC and the red vest in FTL is meant to indicate that those are separate versions of the character. If he’s portal jumping back and forth, why the costume change? (And again, we don’t know for sure that he IS the only character who’d be in both lands, and if there ARE more of them, like Snowing, then it becomes even more unlikely that they’re jumping back and forth.)
If it was all the same AU setting across both worlds, then what would Hook even be doing in our world? The only reason he ended up here was to kill Rumple, but if everyone else is still living in FTL, then you’d think Rumple would have been there too, because there was never a Curse cast, so Hook wouldn’t have had cause to come here. And how is Henry in NYC if Neal’s always been living in FTL, because Henry shouldn’t even exist? And how would Emma be in our world if her parents are still in FTL? Unless Emma still got sent to our world somehow, even if there was no Curse?
So basically, all things considered, I think that the FTL stuff and the NYC stuff are two totally separate realities. And having them BOTH being AUs, that are different, but still have characters appearing in both, would be hella confusing, so I think the NYC stuff is more likely to be actual, present day.
As for Robin Hood, I still think it could go either way, and Regina may well travel back to FTL for some reason, but maybe when she comes back to SB, she’ll bring Robin and the Merry Men back as well? I have a hunch that Robin might be in some of that whatever stuff in FTL, because that PA had one tweet during the 312 filming that mentioned Merry Men, and it seems Sean has been hanging out with Colin, which suggests they’ve been working the same hours recently. But if that stuff IS an AU, then RegalHood still have to meet for real in present day somehow. And if Henry’s gone to NYC with Emma, then I think it’s likely that Regina’s off in another land.
Can it be March now plz?

*hits head on desk*
Yup. All those things make sense and pretty much kill anything I had going.
At this point, it feels like the only explanation that can explain the Hook weirdness, the Gorham-as-maybe-Herny weirdness, the fTL clothing weirdness…is a dream. 312 is a one huge dream. Emma is having a dream about what her life could be in two different worlds and grown up Henry appears in NYC to set her straight about what she wants.

Same with Regina and Snow and Charming and…well, everyone else lol. I mean Rumple met all of them 300 years (give or take a few years) after becoming the DO right? Unless in the AU Rumple made Neal immortal as well.

Unless AU Neal came back from NL at some point and grew up with his Papa.
