What if the person knew they were being killed off all along?
[adrotate group="5"]January 20, 2014 at 8:56 pm #239010SlurpeezParticipantThe death rumor turned out to be true. The unhappy cast member comment was just her opinion. It’s pretty apparent in pictures and comments that the cast truly enjoy one another.
Precisely. I think a lot of us were lulled into believing this PA, because the death rumor turned out to be true. What may NOT be true is that the actor wanted to leave or was fed up, or whatever. That part of the rumor might just be hearsay.

Regina— just found her true love in Robin.
Belle– needs an opportunity to show what she can do, and Rumple has already lost enough.
Bae—Henry just found his father, his past has not been explored enough as why he became Neal, and Rumple again has lost enough.
Hook–need more opportunity to explore his back story, and is an iconic character–also don’t see any reason he would want to leave the show
Emma—really–just no–what OUAT without the main character
Snowing—Can’t have OUAT without these 2
How about it being Blue or Whale?

The article made it clear that the death is one of the core cast, not recurring cast. Basically, anybody who’s regularly credited as “starring”, not any of the cast who fall under “guest starring.” Blue and Whale don’t qualify.

They aren’t series regulars. Matt Mittovich on Twitter has said that it will be one of the regular series

That’s very true. But sadly, we’re still loosing someone. One of our major characters isn’t getting their happily ever after. Adn I know they never promised that but come on…it’s a show about fairy tales. They end with happily ever afters. Didn’t we all think that the final ever episode wold be called “Happily Ever After” and just be a big joyous love fest for EVERYONE.
So Henry looses his father, Rumple looses his son, and Emma looses someone she has always loved in some way.

I still don’t think it’s Neal. His story is far from complete. He has yet to get his second chance, which was his S3a slogan. Rumple sacrificed himself to give him that chance, just not with him. And Neal said in 3×3 that his second chance with Emma and Henry. He said it wasn’t over and that he’d see them again. I just don’t see it happening, especially if this “death” is story driven, as Adam Horowitz tweeted. Neal has too much “unfinished business” and it wouldn’t just crush Neal’s Happy Ending. It would crush Rumple’s, Henry’s and arguably Emma’s idea of a happy ending.

I agree. Neal’s death is wholly unjustified from a story telling perspective and from a standpoint of MANY characters.
And I don’t think Adam and Eddy are thinking about that because *any* death at this point is wholly unnecessary from a storytelling perspective. They are killing someone. Someone isn’t getting their happy ending. As we say SO OFTEN in the SF thread, Neal is the punching bag of ONCE>
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"January 20, 2014 at 9:48 pm #239029CindersParticipantI just want to say that I’m intrigued with the death story. Once Upon A Time is my favorite show, and I trust Adam and Eddie. I love their stories, and I love the actors who portray our characters.
I will be heartbroken when I read the spoilers that tell us who is leaving the show. I won’t be bitter, or mad because I trust the writers and their vision. In the end, it is their vision of a story that we’re watching, not ours.
I think all of our main cast have carried their character journey well, and each of the characters have been integral to the stories we’ve had the pleasure to share.
One of our beloved characters’ journey is ending, and that’s sad. But I’d like to take a moment to wish the actor/actress well on their real life journeys. Thank you for giving me many happy Sundays enjoying your story.
Again, I trust the writers. I may not be happy when I see the spoiler, but I trust the integrity OUAT, and will continue to be spellbound until the story reaches it’s ultimate conclusion.
