Sorry, that happens quite often, thanks RG >>
anyway, I think the death is Hook. In the grand scope of the show, Hook has fulfilled his purpose. He was the villain in the story of Peter Pan, and we have seen that arc okay out through Once and they said that we aren’t going back there. He wanted to kill Rump and avenge Mila and he’s over both those things. The only reason he stuck around for S3 was to be their guide in NL and be a love interest for Emma. Where does he fit in the show now accept to be a part of a love triangle. He will die, I’m sure, probably trying to save Emma.Wait so Hook was the villain in the OUAT version of the Peter Pan story? I could have sworn that was Pan, hmm must be a different OUAT I’m watching.
Where does he fit on the show now? How about his growing relationships with the people around him, not just Emma. A year likely changed him and likely his relationships with others.
Also, there was no suddenly introduced about Hook being a man of honor. He said that in his introduction episode.
“I consider myself a man of honor, a man with a code”

I believe it’s Hook because they never felt the need to change his costume. He’s Been Captain Hook from head to toe from the beginning of his story until now. Regardless of how his story has progressed, he’s still dressed as a pirate and they haven’t bothered to change his wardrobe.
He might have “good form”, and I love him, but there’s a reason they haven’t changed his outward appearance.
January 21, 2014 at 6:43 pm #239310RumplesGirlKeymasterI have no interest in speculating on this anymore. It’s exhausting and every person is going to believe something different based on how they interpret the show.
But this is my question: how many of you will stop watching if it is your favorite character/second favorite character? (don’t cheat and come back with “but RG!! It won’t be my favorite character!!”)
Everyone knows my favorite character is officially out of the running but my second favorite character is getting a lot of “it’s him” and I find myself conflicted. I always imagine I was here for the long haul. And I probably will be. But I will be profoundly disappointed.

I think Watcher meant in the traditional story of PP, and now the PP arc is over on Once so Hook’s big moment is kind of over so to speak. Neverland was Hook’s time to shine and he didn’t quite do that unfortunately.

We don’t know what happened in the year, theoretically Neal and Hook could be best buddies by now since Emma wasn’t around for them to fight over. However, I doubt Hook’s relationships with the other characters have changed that much. Hook’s not really a team player per se, he’ll help so long as he can get something out of it.

Your right about this one, though season 2 Hook had a funny sense of honour.

January 21, 2014 at 6:50 pm #239325MatthewPaulModeratorI went ahead and merged the two threads. Both were essentially the same topic, so it’s redundant to have two of them.

In case anyone missed this.
I really want to know. I want to try and gauge how badly this is going to affect ratings

Mainly because of the script and what is happening in the show right now. Remember Regina’s whole point was the curse. She redeemed herself with the curse, countless times, saved like everyone’s lives, and now had to give up Henry and stuff.
And lets recall what Regina has said and done in some key episodes
from 2×01, Regina didn’t know why they didn’t go back to the enchanted forest, also she didn’t know that it was still there, I bring this up because Regina had never any intention of having the curse break, one way or another, from 2×09, the whole sucking up the magic from the wheel while all the fans were like ‘She is gonna die!’ but luckily she didn’t, from 2×20, the fail safe, which is important because remember Regina didn’t know what happened to the Enchanted Forest, she had no way to go back, she made the fail safe knowing that if she used it, she would have to go into the real world and be alone, forever, from 2×22 “Let me die as Regina”, Regina shows again that she is willing to die to save everyone’s life, she is all redeemed and such, but she really has flirted with death a lot even in 1×22 she was fine with Emma killing her if Henry died, in 3×09, “No Regrets” well a good thing to have in life, total BS because the moment she got back from NL I bet she regretted not giving Henry a closer eye, and well at 3×11, I bet she was having seconds thoughts about the whole curse. And in 3×11 she repeated something monumental, “Villains don’t get happy endings”
and while Regina has gone a far way to get redeemed if she is not the villain, where is her part in the show? She has been downplayed both in season 2 and 3 to leave room for Hook, Neal, and mainly Rumple. She went through like a season and a half to get the whole redeemed thing, which now she is fully redeemed, still a dark Queen, but redeemed. Regina will never be the heroine, and she will not be the villain any longer.
And so for the future, we know that the whole new theme is Wicked and Oz and such. Most common theory about the Wicked Witch is she Regina’s sister, and while everyone is still in one big family tree, usually Once deals with family matters closely like with Peter and Rumple. So it could be Regina taking the final swing this season to save Henry and clan.
But that’s just my theory, it could really be anybody. I could see Henry dying at the end of the season which will make Regina or even Emma go dark Season 4 which will be the basis for that season. I could see Charming die, cause he totally could, which will bring back Snow’s dark heart since that hasn’t been addressed since like season 2, but that was season 2 so it might never be addressed again. It is probably not Snow or Emma because it is Snow and Emma and the show centers around them. With the whole Hook, Neal or Belle trio which are getting the most theories, my point is that they almost killed Bae and Belle way too many times, and with Rumple coming back, that would be like mending a broken wrist by cutting off the arm. So my money would be on Hook plus with Peter gone, and Rumple and him on good terms, he really only has like Emma which was aluded to the fact that he would die for her.

I think Belle dying would have an enormous impact on ratings because you’d lose her fanbase and the huge Rumbelle fanbase – well, not all, but a LOT. Parents with young children (not that I think the show should cater to them) would probably be extremely upset at a VERY popular “princess” (because I don’t think Belle technically is one) being killed and might not watch.
Personally, I would quit (as mentioned above) for many reasons, but primarily because I would have no hope anymore, no joy. I couldn’t ever watch the show again. I’ m struggling already now……Belle dying would be just a nightmare.
I’ m sure the ratings will dip no matter who is killed, but of course there won’t necessarily be a way of knowing what is effecting ratings; there could be many reasons why people tune out………and we can’t judge by the premiere since 3A premiere did great and after that, it was basically downhill.

I’ve already dealt with the death of one of my favourite characters (Felix) and I know Rumple isn’t dead and won’t be killed off (Yay!) and I’m hoping it won’t be Belle (I don’t think it will be but you never know). I won’t stop watching the show if Belle is the death but my enjoyment of the show would be severely affected. I want RumBelle to get their happy ending!
So long as it isn’t Belle, I’ll be okay with the death even though I’d prefer it not to be Neal, Snow, Charming, Emma or Regina. So long as it’s not Belle, I’ll cope.
