ParticipantLana sounds fine. I actually see Regina singing a song similar to the one used in that one promo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=

ParticipantUmmm…okay, that’s weird. I posted something but its not appearing….huh…Well anyway, this is the reply I posted to Onceholic’s comment. RG or Matt, feel free to delete this if it shows up later:
I agree about giving her lower range songs. I don’t think any of us think any of the cast will be perfect, being primarily actors and not singers, but I think that if the show had gone this far so as to actually get a musical episode off the ground, one of the first things they would have done is say “Hey, lets see who can carry a tune”. Regardless, we have to wait however many weeks to see the final product or at least get a first glimpse at it through promos and commercials and I’m excited and say we all just hold off on the who cant sing vs who can. No matter what, as far as we know, all the major players on this show are going to get a song or be apart of group one. Lana may not be winning a grammy any time soon, but gosh darn it she’s going to sing and that’s awesome. Some people won’t like it even if its the greatest thing on the air, but it’s happening.
To be honest though….im a little worried about the dancing aspect of it all. Like singing is one thing, but dancing….ehhhh…. I hope there is no extensive choreography like Disney descendants (hated the dancing in there). Carrying a tune is probably much easier than catching a beat. I find the idea of seeing any of the cast dancing slightly cringe worthy. Except Ginny. We’ve seen what she can do :3

ModeratorSome more info from EW:
EW can exclusively reveal that the upcoming hour will feature seven songs, including a big solo for Jennifer Morrison’s Emma Swan.
Further details on the episode — including who else is singing, what they’re singing and why they’re singing — are still being kept under wraps. (TVLine.com reported earlier Friday that Lana Parrilla would lend her voice to the episode.) When EW hit the set of Vancouver-based series last week, the cast was gleefully trying to sort some of that info out for themselves.

KeymasterSo JMo, Lana, Ginny/Josh, probably Colin, possibly Karen David?
All I want is for this to be somewhat relevant to the story/plot and not because “hey! we’re Disney affiliated. Let’s sing!”

ParticipantHere’s a quote from Robert Carlyle April 15, 2013 during an interview on participating in a musical episode.
“I’m afraid I would have to be bound and gagged and thrown onto the stage from a great height. Even then I might escape. I would escape.”http://efnewsservice.tumblr.com/post/157307579047/once-upon-a-time-musical-episode-robert-carlyle

ParticipantAt this time, I haven't been notified about it, but it will be an amazing episode for #OUAT fans to watch! 😊 https://t.co/RNO9kgr742

So Karen isn’t in it. That actually makes me mad. One of the few people in the cast who can actually sing and they decide not to use her. Ugh.

KeymasterOh come ooooooon.
They hired Karen David to play princess Jasmine and they aren’t going to have her sing even ONE song???!
Ugggggh.

So dumb. Were they afraid she would outshine the rest of the cast and make them look bad?

I’m guessing it’s probably more to do with Aladdin and Jasmine’s story likely being done after 615. Even if it isn’t, it’s looking like the story they have for the musical episode will focus on the core cast and not the guest stars. Although, I believe Karen did say that she was expected to film again in March, so she may still be in the finale. Still a wasted opportunity to not have an actress with a musical background involved.

This is another thing that shows that the episode may not have many importance to the show plot of the season and is more a fan service episode Bc fans wanted a musical epi and a last chance to do a musical epi before the show ends or before most cast goes away.
