If the article is true, then a musical would probably be a ratings ploy. That being said, I wouldn’t mind a musical episode — if done in in the spirit of a parody like Galavant. One of the biggest issues this show has always had is that it takes itself too seriously for what is basically a live-action Disney show. Adding some parodic ballads would be a much welcomed reprieve from the heavy drama of this show and its fandom.

I could be down with that. Some of more successful episodes in the past few years have been the ones that go full on campy, i.e: Shattered Sight, Operation Mongoose pt 1.

It was a huge character moment. As did some of the other characters. It wasn’t just hey the characters can sing, lets have them sing just because. It was funny, but it was also a huge dramatic character moment in the end. Ouat has never been that show. I can’t see the purpose behind having a musical episode except to have one just because.

I want definitely Colin singing cause he’s probably the best in the cast.
Josh is great as well.
Lana is meh
JMO is good
Emilie is good
Robert is good
Ginny is great
Bex is good
Lana is the only one of the mains that is very meh at singing.
Bobby I doubt will sing.
If I was to bet money Karen and Deniz would also be involved in this for sure.
Anyways I expect a Hook solo and CS duet for sure.
This definitely is for ratings but it’s also something the fans have wanted cause of how musically talented the cast is. Anyways I definitely think this is an indication that we’re nearing the end. And they won’t have time for a musical episode in S7 because it’ll be half a season which is fine IMO.

Another reason it would make sense to do one now rather than wait for a potential Season 7 is due to the recent speculation that major cast members will be leaving by the end of the Season once their contracts are up.

Jennifer:
Ginnifer:
Josh:
Lana:
Bobby:
Emilie:
Colin:
Rebecca:
That’s just the series regulars though. Plenty of the guest cast can sing. I hope David Anders comes back for it because I’ve heard him sing in person and he’s amazing!

No, this won´t bring ratings, in fact if i remember right Greys anatomy, and this is a shonda show, and that in the show didnt worked very well not episode, ratings or with the fans and critics, this is pure fan service, the fans want and they give them, however even inside the fandom, im seeing many fans not wanting this to happen, some even say this means this year is the last season.
@MP may be right about the reason why, because some original big cast members may be leaving, and at this point i ´m starting to think that maybe more than 1 original cast members may leave and Bc of 2 certain CW shows that at this point have better ratings than ouat.
But the thing is, will all the cast members be involved? The only way i see this is the Aladdin and jasmine people in their last episodes, probably 619/620 in some flashback scenes, but with so many storylines, makes no sense a musical epi when they are with so many villains trying to destroy them, or even more silly but fits the show, everyone uses the shears on themselves and the duplicates start singing, or Emma has a vision.
Also, They had episode 100, they had S4 finale, they had this winter finale and 611, and if 617 is about Snowing awaking up, they lost a chance there, you can`t tell me that some villain will put them on a curse and they sing, OK , this would fit OUAT, i mean Greys episode was bc someone was injured and started alucinate if i remember corretly, unless they do something like this, but again, is OUAT, they can magically heal, so would not be natural.
Whatever will happen, will be silly, fans will hate it, will mock and in the middle bet like always some ship wars will happen, and others will be disapointed bc wanted this so much and didn´t meet the expectations."I offended you with my opinion? Ha, you should hear the ones I keep to myself".

Interesting. I was sorta doubting Bobby would sing (he seems like he’s against the idea whenever it’s brought up) and he’s the only one I’ve got pegged as leaving for sure. Makes me wonder who else might be jumping ship….
ETA: this might explain why A and E did not write the middle episode of 6B like they normally do, instead just coming up with the story and having someone else pen it.

They all can sing, and sing well (except maybe Lana). At this point, we all agree the show needs to end so who cares? Just do a musical episode! I love it. At the very least, it will be extremely entertaining to watch them try and pull it off.
I will say I think it would be much cooler if there was a reason they all started to sing as opposed to just randomly having them sing for an episode. Ariel’s influence comes to mind. But I just can’t think of a good reason why people would be breaking out into song all of a sudden unless there was some sort of curse but no one really wants to see another one of those.

If they’re wrapping up Bobby I imagine Emilie as well.
And now we have JMO doing another panel with A and E and Colin is being added. Might be jumping the gun but wasn’t it only these two in the cast that RT’d the article about S7? Could these two be major players in whatever they’re planning to do in S7.
