Everything that Jennifer said in that article implied that she wants off the show, but she might be willing to stay one more season if it is the last. Jennifer is done with this show. She wants to do other projects. She doesn’t like her storyline and the inconsistencies on the show. She wants to direct. She said she is glad she did Ouat because it got her into directing. Also, if there really is going to be a big change, which that could just be all talk because contracts are up and the actors are trying to get more money, but if there is going to actually be a big change on the show then the only thing that would cause a big change is either Jennifer or Lana leaving the show. Lana doesn’t seem to want to leave and doesn’t do other projects really, so it stands to reason, that it is Jennifer who is the one who might leave.
Don’t vocalize your thoughts and assume Jennifer thinks the same way as you do. Spoiler alert, she doesn’t.
Also that is simply not true.
Rumple not being around would tremendously affect the show. How many of our characters are connected to him? Every. Single. One
Snowing not being around would tremendously affect the show as well. They’re the couple the story was found on, the iconic couple that have been here since day one.
Regina and Emma are not the only ones. And personally IMO Emma is the only character the show can’t lose.
Because the basis of this show is the real world and fairy tail world colliding. Emma is the real world, the original character. Without her, this is simply another fairy tail show.

While I agree that Jennifer didn’t explicitly say that she wants to leave, she didn’t exactly say that she wants to stay. She said that she’s waiting for abc’s decision, about the show, then for seeing what kind of direction A&E want to take the show in season 7 and then decide whether to renew her contract or not. If she had been definitely in then she would have said that if abc renewed the show then she would continue, but she didn’t say that, did she?

Unless S7 is a complete different thing altogether. Like how Charmed introduced Billy and intended her to be the star of the show from then on. For all we know by the end of season 6, we could have a whole new cast of characters, following them on a whole new adventure, with only occasional appearences by the ones we originally saw.
But I don’t think that is the case UNLESS they are doing a flashforward where we see Henry all grown up going on adventures with grown up Baby Snowflake and grownup Gideon. I think that could be a show. I’d probably watch.

We know how well that works out for the show…see Scrubs S9.
January 24, 2017 at 7:01 pm #332803RumplesGirlKeymasterI don’t think it has to be one or the other, exclusively, with JMo.
I think she will see the show out and can speak positively about it (for whatever reason–genuine affection, PR, both of those) AND at the same time…be ready to move on to other ventures, other projects, other creative outlets.

She used to really praise the writing; now she doesn’t. Now she says, she loves Emma’s character and she is glad she did Ouat because it got her into directing. That is what she says now. Everything in that interview was she wants to finish off Emma as a character because she really loves that character, but she can’t do it forever, she can’t be on Ouat forever, she wants to direct, do other projects, aka implying she is ready to move on.
To suggest that Jennifer wants to stay is a complete vocalization of your thoughts when she specifically stated that she can’t do this forever, that she wants to direct which is, as i said, implying she wants to move on.
Also, while the many characters have multiply connections, some could be cut out and the plot continue on. I think Emma is the center of this show and the normal person and to cut her out and just continue on could only happen with a complete change of how the show works and how characters interact. I think that Regina has become the second center and is connected to Snow, Rumpel, Zelena, Emma, and Henry in ways where her removal would change everything about how the characters interact. The removal of Snow and Charming, while a great loss would just mean they wouldn’t be invited on the quests and their story would be finished off. The same with Rumpel, his story would be finished and he wouldn’t be there to ask for magical help.

But A&E don’t care about that, they don’t care about what makes sense for the story or the characters. If they can continue the show even without Jennifer, they will. They get more money by doing season 7 instead of just ending it with 6. Moreover, reealistically, and I hope that A&E realize that, that season 7 will probably be the final season with or without Jennifer, so ratings or fans or shippers don’t factor into decision about how to handle the show. In the end, A&E will do what is most beneficial for A&E.

Anyone wanna place a bet: original songs or Disney songs?
Original songs, and I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of getting Alan Menken to do them. He’s been writing for TV for the past few years, which of course included Galavant. Doesn’t hurt that Karen David has worked with him, and could provide Adam and Eddy with a connection.
I’d like to hear a mix of new songs and Disney songs. There have already been some very funny moments in the show due to Snow and Emma’s singing songs from the Snow White animated film. In 1×16, Snow, under the effect of a memory-altering potion, hummed With a Smile and a Song until she hilariously tried to swat the blue bird with a broom. In 6×10, Princess Emma, under the amnesic effect of the Wish World, hummed Someday My Prince Will Come from the original cartoon, to which Regina voiced “Emma?” — to great comedic effect.

JMO indicated that she has no interest in abandoning the character and I fully believe she will do S7 for sure. And yes absolutely ratings cannot justify anything more than S7 and TBH a short S7 of 13 episodes.

I went looking for it but couldn’t find it. I don’t think it was a written Ask Ausellio. He does live FB question/answer sessions so I think it may have been one of those?
